Upload Material with MM17 MASS transaction You can use mass maintenance transaction MM17 to create views in some cases. But you must keep in mind that not all the organizational levels should contain the same data (MM17 requires that all data for the materials and organizational levels you select should be the same). Mass creation is never considered to be end users’ responsibility. But as a module specialist you may need to work on MM17. In case of LSMW, BDC or BAPI, it is developers or consultant’s work. So, you do not have to understand in detail, you just must know the concept, and that there is this kind of possibility for mass data maintenance. You can use MM17 for mass changing of material master data (if something can’t be accomplished by this transaction it can be done using LSMW, BDC or BAPI).

💡 𝐉𝐃𝐄𝐭𝐢𝐩𝐬' 𝐓𝐢𝐩 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤!  𝐎𝐌𝐖 (𝐎𝐛𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐛𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐡) 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐎𝐌𝐖 𝐖𝐞𝐛 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐉𝐃𝐄 𝐟𝐨𝐥𝐤𝐬. When OMW logging is turned on, JDE writes entries to the OMW Log tables, F98210 (Parent) and the F98211 (Child). Over time, these tables can grow significantly, so be sure to audit these tables to ensure that you are not storing more than necessary. One client recently audited these tables and found over three million records, 10 years' worth of records in the child table. JDE provides a standard UBE R98210B that allows you to purge these tables based on number of days to store these records. This feature has been around for some time now and works similarly to the traditional OMW Fat client (SAVE / RESTORE)! It allows you to export specs to a PAR file and then Import these specs into the environment you are logged into.  Historically, you could only Import / Export UDO objects via Web OMW; with 9.2.8, it now supports traditional objects such as Applications, Reports, Report Versions, Business Views, and Data Structures.
