Dogs require routine visits to their veterinarian to stay healthy.
There are times when the unexpected occurs - they get sick, or something doesn't look or feel right to you.
Being a dog parent comes with responsibilities. You are their advocate. They depend on you for everything.
When something appears to be outside of their normal routine, keep a list (as detailed as possible.)
Take a short video, if possible. It's easier for a vet to watch a concern you may be struggling to describe.
If you have questions (and you will depending on the situation and your vet) ask questions.
If you don't understand, ask for clarification.
It's vital to have a well-established professional relationship with your veterinarian.
If you do, they will understand and rephrase until 'you get it'.
You are the advocate for your dog. You have the right to get as many opinions as you wish.
Wishing every dog's visits to their veterinarian be for well-check visits.
