Lane Evans, Managing Director of North America at Bell, expressed gratitude for the selection of the Bell 407GXi, emphasizing its upgraded avionics and customizable cabin space.
The Bell 407GXi's reputation for reliability is well-established, with over 1,500 units operating globally, accumulating over six million total fleet flight hours. Louisiana State Police's Air Support Unit, dedicated to providing aerial support to law enforcement agencies, plans to utilize the new Bell 407GXis to expand their public safety mission portfolio.
In addition to the newly acquired Bell 407GXis, the Air Support Unit already operates a diverse fleet, including a Bell 407GXP, two Bell 430s, a Bell 206L-IV Long Ranger, and a Bell 206B-III Jet Ranger, all equipped with advanced features such as Night Vision Goggles (NVG) and Forward Looking Infrared (FLIR) cameras.
The Bell 407GXi offers impressive performance and fuel efficiency, boasting a cruising speed of 133 knots (246 km/h). Its Garmin G1000H NXi Flight Deck enhances situational awareness, providing pilots with easy-to-read information, ultimately contributing to operational efficiency and safety.
