I am hiring a doctoral researcher! Quality assurance is a central aspect of modern mass production in general and core production in particular. Quality assurance for core production and subsequent metal casting is comparatively complex compared to other mass production processes such as metal forming and machining. On an industrial scale, cores are currently inspected only visually before being used in the casting mold. Fine and closed cracks are often overlooked. These defects lead to scrap after casting, which can only be classified as such after a considerable consummation of resources. You will use resonance testing in combination with modal analysis to find such defects in foundry cores. Within the scope of the research project, methods will be developed not only to distinguish between good parts and scrap, but also to localize defects. The video shows the simulated fracture of a water jacket core with a defect during testing. Do you want to be part of this research journey or do you know someone who is interested? Please write me a private message or comment. #DDMP #MRM #dieSandler #impulse_exciation #modal_analysis #foundry_cores

I help mid-career professionals gain clarity, strategy and empowerment for their next career move. Career Coach (Certified Career Practitioner) | Ex-Recruiter | Content Creator | Author | Speaker
(Job Search Strategies - The Ecosystem) Awareness of the ecosystem can be valuable in your job search, particularly if you're looking to leverage related domain experience. Let's explore this concept using the #electronics industry as an example. It consists mainly of: 1) Raw Materials: At the foundation of all electronic products lie raw materials such as plastics, copper, silicon, lithium etc. 2) Semiconductor Devices: The brain of all electronic circuits. The black chips controlling how data is stored and instructions are processed. 3) Wafer Process Equipment: Wafer fabrication is the first step in making semiconductors, and there are various equipment vendors supporting this critical process. 4) Assembly and Test Equipment: Two crucial backend stages in semiconductor device manufacturing, with several suppliers specializing in this space. 5) Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA): The assembly of various electronic components onto printed circuit boards (PCBs), which then flow into final system assembly. While this breakdown is simplified and not exhaustive, it illustrates the interconnectedness of various sectors within the electronics industry. Now, let's consider potential career transitions within this ecosystem. Say you're currently in a Procurement role for Assembly Equipment (4). What would it take to transition into Procurement for Semiconductor Devices (2)? Or perhaps you're handling Applications Engineering for a Test Equipment supplier (4). Could you pivot into a Test Engineering role with a PCBA company (5)? This concept applies to ecosystems of other sectors as well. 🥦 It takes self-awareness + market research to map out and connect the possibilities. 🥦 With this knowledge, your job search is on. And it becomes not just a pursuit of new opportunities, but a journey of professional and personal growth. #career #jobsearch #careerplanning #coaching #broccolise ********************************************** I am Kok Guan, career coach from Broccolise.
