🔊 𝐊𝐋𝐀𝐗𝐎𝐍 𝐂𝐀𝐋𝐋 𝑆𝑒𝑒𝑑 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝐶ℎ𝑎𝑛𝑔𝑒 is now 𝐋𝐈𝐕𝐄 on Big Give! Please watch and share our beautiful video and consider donating to our campaign. We have a target of £𝟏𝟎𝐤, which will be match-funded to a total of £𝟐𝟎𝐤 by Big Give. What would this mean for us? 👉 More seagrass meadows can be identified and protected with our Blue Meadows marker buoys. 👉 We could implement innovative technology to monitor our seagrass beds, assessing how they are recovering and naturally regenerating. 👉 We can refine our holistic approach to enable large-scale seagrass restoration. 🌎 𝐃𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞: bit.ly/BigGiveOCT 𝐁𝐞 𝐚𝐧 𝐎𝐜𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥. Today, you can double your impact with a tax-time gift and give nature a legal voice! Nature needs us now more than ever. In Australia, more than 2000 species and ecosystems are threatened with extinction. We need to drastically cut greenhouse gas emissions to avoid dangerous climate change, yet 29 new coal mines are on the table or approved already in Australia. The law is one of the most powerful tools we have to fight the climate and extinction crises. But we need you on our side, and today you can double your impact. Turn your $50 gift into $100, $150 into $300, or $500 into $1000. Gifts up to $1000 will be matched by one of EDO’s dedicated supporters, the Sisyphus Foundation. The Foundation are offering to match donations up to a total of $40,000 in memory of its founder, Jeremy Davis, who recognised EDO’s vital role in safeguarding Australia’s natural heritage for generations to come. We’d like to thank the Sisyphus Foundation and Jeremy’s family for their ongoing commitment to a world where nature thrives. Make your tax-time gift count and give wildlife and nature a legal voice today. With the end of financial year just three days away, now is a great time to give. By donating today, you are helping to use the law to defend our most precious places and wildlife from destruction.

So much global effort on deforestation, so much effort on mangroves and the coastal environment - but freshwater wetlands are globally disappearing quicker than all these habitats...time to act to save wetlands..
Wetlands are vanishing three times faster than forests. This winter, help us to restore these incredible ecosystems. Donate today, and give back to nature 👉 https://ow.ly/ij5F50Ql7VQ?

We’re thrilled to announce our third year participating in IMPACT TOGETHER: The Colorado River Basin Project! As the ongoing drought continues to affect the primary water sources in the Colorado River Basin area, we’re facing the growing reality that these water supplies are no longer stable and need our help. At Avista, we are committed to increasing water resilience and helping our customers deliver a positive water impact on their sustainability targets. Over the past two years, Kurita, our parent company, donated $40,000 to this initiative. This year, they hope to donate $30,000! It is important to recognize what we can do for our world.
We are proud to announce the launch of our Fractal Gives programme: a sustained commitment to environmental and social causes. The first recipient of a USD 25,000 donation is a mangrove restoration project in Sierra Leone, chosen by our CEO Mathieu Philippe . Not only will the mangroves capture five times more carbon than trees, they will also help marine life and strengthen food security. More details here: https://lnkd.in/d595HPx8

🎉Today, please join us to commemorate the remarkable legacy of our Founder, Rob Stewart, on what would have been his Forty-fourth Birthday! 🦈✨ In honor of his persistent dedication to the Rob Stewart Sharkwater Foundation, your thoughtful, generous $44 gift (or any amount) will be DOUBLED to $88, thanks to the support of an anonymous donor. This commemoration will extend for 44 days through February 8th, 2024, with the goal of raising $4,400 ($8,800). You may prefer a 1-time gift of $44. (or other amount), or recurring monthly at $44. 🔍Diving into the deeper meaning and symbolism of the number forty-four, it is associated with strength, stability, abundance, business and building for the future. Forty-four is linked to achievements, hard work, and laying foundations – all of which Rob accomplished and so brilliantly. 💪Number four, which makes up forty-four, symbolizes self-expression, trust, patience, determination, focus, a solid foundation, completion, and loyalty. Seeing forty-four can be a sign to pursue your goals, a message of reassurance, or a reminder to build a strong foundation – an inspiration to continue Rob's mission. 🌍To reinforce Rob’s mantra on this memorable day: "Conservation is the preservation of human life on earth. And that, above all else, is worth fighting for." Human rights matter for marine conservation because people and nature are inextricably linked. A thriving planet cannot exist with widespread human suffering, and a thriving humanity cannot exist on a dying planet. 🌊Together, we're bringing much-needed protections, change, and transformation to deepen our impact for ocean conservation and the preservation of marine life in 2024 and beyond! You + Me = We Can. 💙THANK YOU from Team Sharkwater. Click this link to Donate: https://lnkd.in/gWNNFzD4 #RememberingRob #SharkwaterLegacy #OceanConservation #DonateNow

🌳 Update on our ash dieback work at Smardale Nature Reserve 🌳 Good news – we're on track to complete the first phase of the work by the end of March 2024 (watch the video below for a recap on why it's necessary). Until then, the footpath from the main carpark to the viaduct will remain closed. We'll do some follow-up work on the path to make sure it's fully accessible. This has been large scale, complicated and costly work which we're doing as sensitively as possible, leaving as many trees and pollards as we can. Find out more about ash dieback and donate to help our woodlands here ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/e8u72n2x Unfortunately, there'll be more ash dieback management carried out in the autumn in different parts of Smardale Nature Reserve, but we don't anticipate this phase of the work to be as disruptive.

How much wasted paper is there in the world? Or even wasted space online? The antidote is well-used paper, and well-used space. So please share this fundraiser by a small impactful charity, producing books of well-used paper, and e-books of well-used space. Today the fundraiser launched for possibly our most ambitious book yet, themed around ecological crisis and societal collapse. We would be grateful for a simple positive reaction on this post, to boost engagement. Even better, why not drop a little comment, and share your thoughts, whether frivolous or profound? Further, why not repost with your own thoughts, thus boosting your own profile? Finally...you could donate, to help this book become a reality.

We're just 4 days away from the Weston-super-Half in aid of Project Seagrass. Many of the population aren't in the know when it comes to seagrass, which is why we are fundraising and sharing important facts along the way, please give, if you can, to our fundraiser for Project Seagrass (link in comments). Seagrasses only occupy 0.1% of the seafloor yet are responsible for 18% of organic carbon buried in the oceans. Seagrass meadows are able to store carbon in their sediment, essentially ‘locking’ away large amounts of carbon and acting as a carbon store. Help protect seagrass meadows by supporting our fundraiser for Project Seagrass. #fundraising #seagrass #projectseagrass #climatechange #climateaction #climatecrisis #justgiving #halfmarathon
