The French Army receives its first 300 Bi-NYX night vision binoculars equipped with Photonis 4G technology The French Army has recently strengthened its night combat capabilities with the delivery of 300 Bi-NYX night vision binoculars, equipped with Photonis 4G image intensifier tubes. As part of this modernization effort, the older Lucie night vision goggles are being replaced by the more advanced Nellie model, both developed by Thales. Ordered in a batch of about 2 000 units by the DGA - Direction générale de l'armement (the French armament procurement agency) , the new binoculars provide enhanced resolution and a wider field of view, allowing soldiers to operate more effectively in low-light conditions. A key feature of the Bi-NYX binoculars is the integration of Photonis 4G technology, which delivers high-resolution images and superior visibility in low light environments. This technology greatly enhances detection, recognition, and identification capabilities, giving soldiers a significant tactical advantage during nighttime operations. As a trusted partner of NATO, Photonis continues to play a crucial role in modern defense applications, increasing mission safety and efficiency for the French Army. #Photonis #NightVision #4GTechnology #BiNYX #FrenchArmy #exosens

ScioTeq recently participated in a joint Integrated Combat Solution (ICS) demonstration, developed by BAE Systems and Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace at the AUSA 2024 Annual Meeting and Expo. The ICS is a digital integration platform that combines hardware and software to improve situational awareness and combat capability. This system is a transformational situational awareness capability that vastly increases Soldiers’ battlefield situational awareness and allows them to share and rapidly pass targeting information across the battlefield to other platforms, and then engage a target remotely. It is platform agnostic and includes networked sensors on different battlefield assets to allow for command and control from a single screen. You are invited to watch the video below highlighting ScioTeq’s role in the demonstration with its new 32-inch 4K display which has been ruggedized with military connectors and all critical options for ground army applications and mobile command on the move. #IntegratedCombatSolutions #USArmy #MissionCriticalTechnology #AUSA2024 #SituationalAwareness #CombatTechnology #MilitaryDisplays #DefenseInnovation

💥 Our AI-powered K1000ULE Ultra Long Endurance UAS platforms are revolutionizing how we address global issues. For example, in our recent operation in the Americas Pacific with the Joint Pacific Multinational Readiness Center (JPMRC), the K1000ULE was tasked with relaying signals from soldiers carrying TSM® enabled L3Harris radios, connecting squad leaders to division echelons over various Hawian terrains. The K1000ULE's successful performance in the JPMRC further validates its potential to revolutionize communication in challenging environments. Its ability to operate for extended periods, reach remote areas, and overcome terrain obstacles makes it an essential tool for enabling effective communication in diverse scenarios. We are introducing a series of analytical articles on defence tech from the Defence Builder team. In the first article, Kateryna Kistol, an Analyst at Defence Builder Accelerator, explores the key differences between #defencetech and #miltech — terms that have become widespread in Ukraine during the full-scale war. While often used interchangeably, these concepts have distinct meanings and implications. Kateryna's analysis reveals how defence technologies encompass the entire ecosystem from production to integration, whereas military technology focuses on specialised weapons systems and equipment, designed for the needs of warfare. Any electromagnetic energy transmitted represents a potential vulnerability, but it also represents a potential opportunity. To hide, create a vast collection of false electromagnetic signatures. Spread them around. Make them look real. Make them cheap. Make your adversary blow THEM up, wasting resources on the false signatures......and hide the real ones as best you can. Think of trying to communicate within a crowded bar, but you know that someone is trying to overhear your conversation and so Chris Farley is at the bar trying to distract him. In the future it will be difficult to have little to no electromagnetic signature. Our embrace of technology precludes that possibility. So instead focus on alternative solutions, designed to confuse and obfuscate.
”While the Pentagon understands some of the challenges the US military may face in future warfighting, the Ukraine war offers the opportunity for the US to observe and solve problems now as it prepares for the possibility of high-end great-power conflict. The US military is increasingly looking into countering detection in the electromagnetic spectrum, defeating drones, and stepping up its electronic warfare capabilities amid developments in Ukraine. In August 2023, Doug Bush, the Army's acquisition chief, said that the Army was ’fundamentally reinvesting in rebuilding our tactical electronic warfare capability after that largely left the force over the last 20 years,’ noting that the fight in Ukraine had added ’urgency’ to those efforts.”

#defencetech vs #miltech "By comparison, in the framework of defence-tech, one can easily imagine a multicopter type cargo drone, used both on the battlefield — for attack operations or delivery of various kinds of cargo to the friendly units, — as well as in rescue operations, not in a conflict zone. Instead, mil-tech production is originally designed and constructed entirely for warfare purposes." That's the interesting perspective. Are you agree #defencetech = dual-use solutions?
