Safety and Security go hand-in-hand. While this was definitely NOT a cyber security incident, it highlights the importance of the OT systems on board a ship and why any incident - cyber or not - may impact safety on board! Read the report https://lnkd.in/eHQqYEvQ

Since I have been part of Halliburton, I have become so much more aware of safety around me. We have a responsiblity for the safety of ourselves and those around us. Remember, if you see something, own it. If you see an unsafe situation, or even a potentially unsafe situation, don't just walk past it. Take responsiblity for getting it corrected. #We'reInThisTogether #safetyfirst

Safety moments are brief discussions or reminders about safety procedures that are crucial in the oil field. These discussions can cover a wide range of topics, from hazard identification and risk assessment to the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). The oil and gas industry can be inherently hazardous, so it's vital for workers to be constantly aware of the safety risks around them. Safety moments help to keep safety at the forefront of everyone's mind and can help to prevent accidents and injuries.

Being Chaos Ready doesn't just mean being immediately available in times of crisis. Often times readiness is built on a lot of unseen, unglorified, and unsexy work and planning, long before disaster strikes. One platform for this preparation is represented by the advisory committees, industry organizations, and work groups that strive to support intelligent policies within our respective regulatory frameworks. No, it isn't sexy. But, it is bureaucratic. (We don't know. Maybe some of you are into that.) Whatever. The point is, however you feel about it, it is absolutely necessary. Take the time to participate in these organizations, make your voice heard on relevant committees and work groups and, most importantly, SHOW UP. #chaosreadyresources #maritime #NOSAC #regulatory #startarevolution
On September 18, 2024, the National Offshore Safety Advisory Committee will be holding its Fall 2024 public meeting. These meetings represent the single best opportunity for the maritime industry and the general public to engage directly with the USCG and other federal agencies regarding important topics that impact the maritime industry and its stakeholders. If you are available, please make it a point to attend this meeting and provide your input and insight to the development process for USCG policies and rules. Looking forward to seeing you there! https://lnkd.in/giEPc3pM

Today in my office to safety moment I talked about Ergonomics. Ergonomics is vital in the workplace for optimizing human performance and well-being. By designing workspaces and tasks to suit human capabilities and limitations, it reduces the risk of injuries and discomfort associated with repetitive motions or awkward postures. This not only enhances employee health and satisfaction but also improves productivity and quality of work. Ergonomic interventions can prevent musculoskeletal disorders, fatigue, and other health issues, leading to reduced absenteeism and healthcare costs for employers. In today's competitive environment, where employee well-being directly impacts organizational success, investing in ergonomics is crucial. It fosters a safer, more efficient, and more enjoyable work environment, promoting a positive company culture and enhancing overall performance. Halliburton #TSS

The National Levee Safety Program, a joint program between USACE and FEMA currently under development, is set to release the draft first edition of the National Levee Safety Guidelines on April 1, 2024. These guidelines, developed with stakeholder input, are intended to serve as a resource of best practices to help achieve nationwide consistency in improving the reliability of levees and resilience of communities behind levees throughout the United States. This is an exciting opportunity to provide input into the first ever comprehensive levee safety guidelines for the Nation! Visit www.leveesafety.org for more information.
