Behind the quality of our products lies the story of many people.
💫 Meet Gloria Colla, born in '89, QHSE technician at the Parma business unit.💫
"I joined GEA Homogenizer in 2021 as an HSE, after earning a degree in Environmental Engineering, a master's in 'Auditor of Integrated Management Systems for Quality, Environment, Energy, and Safety,' and gaining work experience in the field of environment and safety. After six months, I was offered the opportunity to move into quality, and I decided to take the leap."
"Changing roles made me discover a work area that I wasn't familiar with but where I feel very comfortable. It's a very varied job that requires technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills, as you need to interact with many people from all departments."
"The goal, in short, is to ensure that processes, products, suppliers, and incoming raw materials meet the quality standards required to maintain ISO 9001 certification (and guarantee the satisfaction of our customers). In practice, we are the first point of contact within the company: any issues are reported to us by the control team or directly from production, and it is our responsibility to find the solution by promptly involving the appropriate departments."
"In these three years, we have tried to change our approach and earn the trust of other departments, eliminating the layer of distrust that our role can generate. This approach has paid off, thanks also to the support of management. Today, people have started to trust us, understanding that we are not here to be an obstacle but to help."
"What rating would I give the company in terms of quality? I'd say a solid 8. Compared to the average, we're quite ahead and increasingly structured, but of course, there's room for improvement, and that's a positive thing.
There's a lot of investment with the goal of fostering a continuous growth process that also involves mindset, facilitated by the arrival of many young people and fresh ideas. The group provides us with the tools, but I'm convinced that the quality of GEA products is entirely thanks to the people."
