I am looking forward to speaking alongside Georgios Tetradis-Mairis of Nomad Foods to challenge the accepted level of -18°c as the correct temperature for storing frozen food at the Campden BRI conference during IFE Manufacturing on 26th March. This follows presentations by Nomad Foods and Unilever at our business conference on 28th February on the same topic. https://lnkd.in/eAUTkBfz   British Frozen Food Federation members are already using more sustainable processes and storage temperature is a major piece of that jigsaw. It may or may not be a solution, but we the moral obligation to challenge and see what is possible. Just a small increase in temperature will significantly reduce the carbon emissions which would be an exciting step way beyond just our membership.   The category is already a great option for those looking to reduce food waste in the foodservice and retail worlds, as well as us as consumers at home. Add to that an increase in temperature and frozen products become even more attractive, and I have not even mentioned the amazing nutritious benefits with nutrients and vitamins preserved once the product is frozen with no need for additives. #thinkfrozen #sustainablefoodsystems

Love this team, because they are not like all the other startups... They found a problem that no one had solved for hundreds of years. Enabling beverage makers to distribute seamlessly across boarders while owning their own customers (ask anyone in that business, and they'll tell you it's a big problem), and then they just got to work. No ping pong tables, startup conferences, etc - just focus on the customers. As they started turning the stones on the beverage industry, they found that there was a lot of other unsolved problems. One by one, they are building a digital infrastructure for a whole industry turning over €1bn per day in Europe alone. And their customers love it. Keep and eye out for Bemakers. They are not the loudest in the startup world, but they might be the most focused and the best team.
