Who doesn't love festivals? Well, actually, quite a lot of people! But we certainly do, and what we enjoy even more is creating these vibrant spaces in which people can unite and celebrate. Here are some of our most iconic projects to date: 1. Brixton Roof Top: In collaboration with our partners, we transformed a multi-story car park in Brixton into a 1000-person capacity pop-up event space. During summer, it became Brixton Beach, a Miami-themed beach party haven. In winter, it morphed into the North Pole Saloon, an alpine forest refuge. Not bad for a concrete block in the city! 🌴❄️ 2. The Danish Quarter with Live Nation and Carlsberg: We designed, built, and delivered ‘The Danish Quarter’ for Carlsberg. This standout activation not only wowed festival-goers but also contributed to the community. The wood from this project was repurposed for local school projects and even a kids' treehouse at a local nursery! 🍻 3. The Pepsi Tower: Now in its fourth year, this iconic stage has been a staple at Wireless Festival, Leeds Festival, and Reading Festival. This epic structure is built with sustainability in mind, reusing materials each year. Keep an eye out for it at Summer 2024 festivals! 🌟 4. Bulmers Colourena - 13,000 people partied within the awesome Bulmers Colourena activation! 🌈 At Better Green Productions, we're passionate about creating memorable, sustainable event environments. Let's build better together! 🌱 #PepsiTower #SustainableEvents #FestivalStage #BrixtonRooftop #PopUpEvents #UrbanTransformation #DanishQuarter #Carlsberg #CommunityImpact #BetterGreenProductions #FestivalEnvironments #Sustainability

SXSW is here, the biggest gathering of industry folks celebrating music. I'll be there to share green touring solutions and insights together with Dick Massey, tour manager (Billie Eilish and Finneas). If you're in Austin, please join us for our fireside chat: "So, You Wanna Reduce the Environmental Impact of Your Tour?" More info: "Tour managers & event producers face increased pressure to deliver sustainable events - but it's difficult to find the most effective solutions. In this session, Dick Massey - Drummer from The Commitments, highly respected, long-time tour manager and production coordinator, including for Billie Eillish - and Michael Martin - the “Guru of Live Event Greening” & innovator behind r.World | Reuse - lay out a simple way to eliminate waste at events: reuse. An interactive session engaging the audience will inspire and educate about easy steps everyone can take to reduce the impact of touring and events." Looking forward to seeing everyone! How to turn a farm into the world's greatest music festival? Of course, it demands a huge amount of money, people and efforts. But the return is absolutely worthy, for the producers, the sponsors and specially for those who build this event or get the ticket to enjoy it. From the perspective of a music lover, I personally think that a festival is a celebration of life for many reasons, starting from the intense emotions and the life-changing experience that it can be. But also because a festival is also a great opportunity for people who: - Build the infrastructure. - Prepare the food and deliver the drinks. - Provide security for musicians, technicians and festival goers. - Offer transportation and accomodation, among other services. This video shows how the Glastonbury festival ("Glasto") is built in 26 days, and also part of its history, from the first edition in 1970 as the "Pop Folk & Blues" festival with nearly 1000 attendants, until today, with over 400 workers and 210.000 attendants. I have not attended many festivals, but I do follow them and dream with enjoying some ones with my kids. 🌍 13 Nations, 1 Festival, and a Crash Course in German Culture! 🍺🥨 What happens when a team representing 13 different nationalities takes a trip to a traditional German event like the Pichmännel Festival in Dresden? Let’s just say... it’s the ultimate "Integration Program"! 😂 This past weekend, our diverse team united under one common goal: to survive a day of wursts, beer, and centuries-old German traditions. For those unfamiliar, the Pichmännel Festival dates back to the 1800s and celebrates the Saxon region's unique culture, history, and love for all things grilled. Imagine Oktoberfest with even more local flair! Now, as someone whose idea of "German" began with Schnitzel and ended with Rammstein, this experience was a deep dive into the heart of the culture. We embraced the full Germanization experience—from attempting to pronounce the names of local dishes (with mixed success 😅) to discovering that Lederhosen or Dirndl are surprisingly comfortable. 😎 And let’s not forget about the team-building aspect of this cultural integration: there’s nothing quite like bonding over a stein of beer and a shared inability to properly execute traditional folk dances. (No, really—there’s video evidence to prove it, but for everyone's sake, I’ll keep that off LinkedIn! 🎥❌) But here’s the real lesson we took away from the day: It doesn’t matter where you’re from, where you live now, or how unfamiliar the traditions may seem at first. When you approach the world with an open mind—and a sense of humor—it becomes an adventure. The more we embrace our differences, the more fun we have together. 🌏✨ So, whether you’re mastering KPI dashboards or attempting to master Schuhplattler dances, just remember: ❗ Life is a lot more fun when you’re open to new cultures, people, and opportunities. 🙌 Cheers to the team for proving once again that, no matter where you’re from, we can all come together and make some unforgettable memories! 🍻🥨 #EnlocWorld #TeamSpirit #WorkLifeBalance #WhyNot

💭 Reflections from Glastonbury I took a step away from my usual job to dive into the vibrant and chaotic world of Glastonbury, Europe's biggest festival, welcoming over 200,000 attendees. This experience is always special to me – it's a time to be present, to focus on the now, and to be part of a massive team effort that makes this incredible event happen. The atmosphere at Glastonbury is electric, and being part of this big machine is exhilarating. It's a chance to bring teams together, to implement lessons from previous years, and to elevate our performance. Every shift, every interaction, every step (and there were a lot of them – I averaged 38,000 steps a day!) counts towards creating an unforgettable experience for the festival-goers. Of course, not everything was smooth sailing. Dealing with challenging individuals reminded me of the importance of empathy and effective communication. Sometimes, it feels like people haven't heard the saying, "you catch more bees with honey." It's key to approach teamwork as a partnership and focus on collaboration rather than pointing out flaws. Transparency and honesty about motives when asking for help can make a huge difference. Every action, no matter how small, contributes to the overall customer experience, especially when thousands are pouring through the gates. It's about bringing people along on the journey with you, overcommunicating, and motivating them to go the extra mile. A key takeaway: never talk down to people – whether they're punters or colleagues. It doesn't make you a hero; in fact, it does quite the opposite. Sometimes, amidst the whirlwind, it's essential to take a step back, breathe, and centre yourself to plan the best course of action. It has taken me a week to recover, but I wouldn’t trade this experience for anything. I can’t wait to do it all over again next year! Here’s a picture from the last shift at our gate with the amazing security team that made it all possible. #Glastonbury #FestivalLife #Teamwork #CustomerExperience #Leadership #EventManagement #Reflection
