One of our experts will be part of the workshop session organized by the Swiss Food & Nutrition Valley on Ultra-Processed Foods: Myths, Facts, and Future Role. This is a critical topic for us at Planted, as there's often confusion in the media and among consumers that all processed foods are the same. But not all processed products are created equal. At Planted, we use only natural ingredients and short ingredient lists in our #plantbased meats—completely different from highly processed, high-fat, high-sugar products. Truly better than meat from animals. A growing population along with increasing life expectancy and incomes are major drivers for the rise in global meat demand. However, the current scale of the animal meat industry is beyond unsustainable. Planted wants to change that. The Zurich-based FoodTech spin-off from the Swiss Technical Institute of Technology (ETH) was founded in 2019 and was quick to build intellectual property around their technological approach, currently holding several patents. Planted is a certified B Corporation. Planted’s principal meat production is in a glass-house production facility in Kemptthal (Zurich) Switzerland - the first transparent meat production open to the public. Planted meats are available in over 6100 restaurants and more than 8700 retail outlets across Switzerland, Germany, Austria, France, Italy, UK and BeNeLux as well as over its own Europewide webshop. The Planted meat ranges, each consisting of different protein sources, currently include planted.chicken, planted.pulled, planted.kebab, planted.duck, planted.schnitzel, planted.bratwurst, planted.slices Lyoner and planted.steak. In addition, there are various limited editions in close collaboration with star chefs such as Tim Raue, Damien Germanier, Haya Molcho or Sebastian Copien.

Today marks Zero Emissions Day, a global #initiative aimed at giving our #planet a break by reducing #carbonemissions for 24 hours. It's a day to pause and reflect on how our actions impact the environment and to commit to solutions that foster a #sustainable future 🌎 At Planted, every day is an opportunity to minimize our footprint and contribute to a healthier planet. Here’s how we’re making a difference: 🔋 Energy Efficiency: We source 80% of our heating and cooling energy from an innovative heat recovery system, and 100% of our electricity is powered by Swiss hydropower. ♻️ Waste Management: We’ve achieved zero landfill waste, with an 85% cardboard recycling rate and sustainable packaging solutions. 🚰 Water Conservation: Our products use up to 87% less water than traditional animal-based options, and we even recycle water in our cooling processes. 🚗 Sustainable Transport: All of our company cars are 100% electric, and our UK food truck runs on solar power.
