As we step into June and celebrate Pride, it's a perfect time to reflect on our journey towards inclusivity and the steps we can still take 🌈 With my culture deeply rooted in Bihar, the widespread acceptance of inclusivity that we witness today once felt like a distant dream. Yet, I was fortunate to be raised by forward-thinking and empowering parents who encouraged me to see beyond biases and deeply understand the society around us. Their guidance has been instrumental in shaping my perspective on inclusivity 👨👩👦 For me, Pride Month is not only about celebration but also about active engagement in creating environments—both at work and in our personal lives—where everyone, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity, feels genuinely valued and supported. I also feel fortunate enough to work in an organization like Deloitte that fosters the spirit of inclusion and encourages us to celebrate these milestones! ⭐ ▶ Here’s how I personally commit to fostering inclusivity: 1. Continuous Education: I make it a point to educate myself on LGBTQ+ issues through books, articles, and seminars. Understanding different perspectives is key to empathy and inclusivity 📚 2. Advocacy in Policies: In my workplace, I advocate for inclusive policies that protect and support LGBTQ+ rights. It’s important that our professional spaces reflect our values of diversity and equality 🌈 3. Celebrating Diversity: I participate in and organize events that celebrate LGBTQ+ culture and contributions, helping to weave these narratives into our everyday lives 🌆 4. Community Support: I support local LGBTQ+ charities and initiatives, understanding that building stronger communities involves active contribution and engagement 📢 5. Open Conversations: I strive to create spaces where colleagues and friends feel safe to express themselves and share their experiences. Listening is a powerful tool for change 🗣 This Pride Month, I encourage all of us to not only celebrate but also to embrace the practices that foster an inclusive environment year-round 🌏 Let’s share our stories and strategies on LinkedIn for making this space a welcoming one.
