A key example is the approval of a third vehicle terminal at the Port of Barcelona to accommodate increasing traffic of #electricvehicles, reducing emissions and strengthening #logistics chains. 🚉The new terminal, central to the Port's IV Strategic Plan, supports the flow of electric vehicles and enhances Catalonia’s role as an automotive hub. Strategically located next to the railway terminal in Section VI, it improves logistics for Spanish and European markets via maritime and rail connections, showcasing Catalonia’s commitment to sustainable transport. 🌱The terminal will use zero-emission vehicles, promote electric and hydrogen-powered trucks, and integrate sustainable practices like photovoltaic panels and renewable energy. #Belgrade to #Ljubljana by train in over 2 hours from 2028   As the fast train from #Belgrade to #Subotica travelling only 70 minutes will be operational in 2024, Serbia is moving its focus to modernising railway routes to the west and south, one of them being towards #Ljubljana in Slovenia via #Zagreb in Croatia. The project of having a #fasttracktrain that would connect Ljubljana and Belgrade in over 2 hours should be completed in 2028. Serbia completed the first step last week as the Spatial plan for the Stara Pazova – Golubinci – Sid section is now in public consultation. The planned railway would have two tracks with speed up to 200 km per hour. Going for a meeting in Ljubljana from Belgrade by train in a day could become the new normal. Of course, this would be a huge step ahead for freight transport as well. #investment #railway #corridorX

We've contracted 15 dual electric-battery trains (BEMU) for České dráhy, a.s.. The new units, powered either by overhead lines or traction batteries, will be operating on the tracks of the Moravskoslezský kraj. It means that passengers will enjoy more direct connections, and we'll help the environment by reducing carbon emissions on non-electrified tracks. "It's a great success for us, and we're thrilled to be innovating Czech rail transport together with Czech Railways. Estonian Marine Greentech and Retrofit Hub is launching 2025! I am happy to share, that our initiative has made one big step further. We welcome all the shipowners to come to Estonia to retrofit their existing fleet with aims to decarbonize or increase energy efficiency. - Our ports are ready to receive the biggest vessel who can enter the Baltic Sea. - Our maritime cluster has a long list of innovative companies with global reach, who are experienced and focused in bringing existing fleets to new and green technologies. - Our value offer covers all aspects of services, which shipowners need, when retrofitting their fleet. - One of the pillars of our Hub is a measure, which compensates for a certain percentage of the work, if conditions are fulfilled. - Thanks to our government decision from yesterday, we can launch the first phase. Depending on the actual works, our analyzes show that we have enough funding to support ship types starting from cargo vessels finishing with cruise vessels. EURO24 ended on Sunday with the win of Spain against England 🏆. It was announced as the most sustainable European Championship to date, but how was this goal to be achieved? It was expected that during the tournament, cars would cause the second-largest emissions after airplanes 🚗. In total, 84% of all emissions are projected to come from transportation, emphasizing the urgent need for sustainable mobility solutions. A recent study by Felix Bittner and Max Eberhardt for the German Bundesumweltamt highlights that smart parking management systems can significantly contribute to a more sustainable mobility for major events in the long term.
