As a company often challenged by creatives to push existing tech to its limit, I took a look back at some of our older projects, and it's kinda funny to see them now. What was so hard and virtually impossible at the time would now be so easy. Take, for example, this Puma project from 2018 where we used an ML model to populate a dataset with human movement gathered during the campaign. That dataset was then used to train a new model to control our animated character. This project took 6 months of back-breaking work, and thankfully, we had a patient client because progress on the model was anything but consistent. Nowadays, we could build something like this in 6-8 weeks. The training time alone would be just a few hours, not 5-6 days like before. And the annotation process would be 90% automated. So much more accurate and easier, too.

Teamwork and Innovation with the Life-Size LEGO McLaren P1 🚗💡 WOW! A Life-Size LEGO McLaren P1 💡🚗 Ever imagined a LEGO car that not only looks stunning but also drives? Well, the dream team from LEGO Technic and McLaren Automotive made it a reality! This incredible project brought together 23 specialists who dedicated over 8,344 hours to develop and construct a life-size, drivable McLaren P1 using a staggering 342,817 LEGO Technic pieces. The journey was nothing short of extraordinary. From the initial design phase to the final assembly, every team member played a crucial role. The collaboration was a testament to the power of teamwork, innovation, and sheer determination. Crafting each intricate detail required immense precision and patience. The team meticulously placed each of the 342,817 pieces, ensuring the model was both visually stunning and structurally sound. The project wasn’t just about aesthetics. The LEGO McLaren P1 is fully functional, capable of hitting speeds up to 40 mph, thanks to its 768 LEGO Power function motors. To prove its capabilities, McLaren F1 driver Lando Norris took the LEGO P1 for a spin around Silverstone, completing a full lap without a hitch. This project is a shining example of what can be achieved when creativity meets engineering prowess. It’s not just a car; it’s a symbol of what’s possible when we push the boundaries of innovation and work together towards a common goal. _Find some interest on everything around you Mobility and sport has always been part of our DNA at OUTERCRAFT. Focused on the evolution of mobility, we wanted to take part of it by trying to remove the last obstacles that people feel when using a bicycle on a daily basis. After analyzing the feedback on a survey that we did around commuting, the remaining obstacles were linked to cycling safety (visibility, infrastructure) and also to weather conditions. Unable to have a sufficiently significant impact on infrastructure, we focused on the weather conditions. After proposing to our panel several research directions around accessories to make the bike ride more pleasant, the jacket was the preferred direction. This project is an internal project that we carried out from branding to the industrialization phase in order to put ourselves in the position of our customers and to be as close as possible to the issues that concern them. Just a quick update on the progress of the Future Bike Racer Concept I’m developing for my upcoming design workshop. All modelling is done in Blender, and I’m picking up some fantastic tricks while incorporating lessons from recent projects. The next step involves refining bodywork surfaces and creating a realistic design, complete with an opening transparent canopy. I took a slightly sci-fi approach to the drive train to keep things interesting—sometimes, it’s all about the creative exploration rather than getting too deep into the engineering specifics, which wasn’t the primary focus here.
