Q: "Will Trident LS-1 be able to go off-road in say loose sand to get to the water off a beach?" A: AWD and up to 12" ride height clearance will allow limited off-road travel, for beach access to water through medium to hard pack sand. Very loose sand may be an issue depending on the tires selected. Trident LS-1 with reverse trike (2 wheels in front, one wider one in rear) AWD is not being designed for "aggressive off-road travel". Grace, Pace and Space (hat tipped to the Jaguar car ads of years past!) This is, in my opinion (albeit a tad biased!), the true apotheosis - the zenith - of outboard-powered rigid inflatable boats. There is no competitor with the same blend of durability, build quality and overall usability. The Stormforce 7.4 is Redbay's most popular creation ever, with sales well into three figures - and with good reason. Whilst the Suzuki 4.0 litre DF250AP/300AP has traditionally been the default power unit for this model, this particular boat was the first to use the twin-prop 4.4 litre DF300B - and what a revelation it was. The handling, acceleration, speed and turning ability were all off the scale, with the hook-up from the twin props ensuring that the boat held on like a limpet in corners and turned as if on rails. There is little doubt that this boat could be driven quickly, safely and confidently anywhere, through any conditions which one would be brave enough to tackle - in fact, the driver would chicken out long before the boat would. It's great to see a veritable paradigm of excellence and a world-leading boat of this type built by true artisans in the "Wee North". No doubt about it: there is the Redbay Stormforce 7.4 and then there is the rest.
