Sustainable packaging in focus: presenting the IntElectS at Fakuma Messe Join us at Hall B1, Booth 1105, where we will reveal our latest all-electric packaging machine: the IntElectS 220. Achieving a fast dry cycle time of 1.6 seconds, the machine directly address one of the major fluctuating operating expenses for mass-packaging moulders today - energy consumption. During tests, the IntElectS series has proven energy savings of between 40 and 50 percent compared to hybrid systems! This IntElectS is designed specifically for plastic processors mass-manufacturing narrow tolerance and thin-walled packaging products at the fastest speeds. Cycle times of between three and twelve seconds and injection speeds of up to 350 mm/s are the typical range of the new all-electric IntElectS. Witness the machine in action at our booth, producing #IML (in mould labelling) lids for 500ml butter and margarine containers on a four-cavity mould tool supplied by Bazigos S.A and a side-entry robot from automation specialist Campetella Robotic Center. Beyond the energy efficient production setup, the lids are also an exemplary fit for the #CircularEconomy: ➡️ Employing Injection Compression Molding, we have efficiently reduced the weight of these lids from 8.2g to a mere 6.2g ➡️ Both the lids and their labels (supplied by Stephanos Karydakis S.A.) are composed of the same material, guaranteeing optimal recyclability ➡️ Each lid features a QR code that provides dynamic data, collected within an R-Cycle database, offering transparent and comprehensive product information ➡️ The lids are produced using Borealis' #Bornewables™, polyolefins produced from renewable feedstocks Don't miss this exclusive opportunity to witness this extraordinary exhibit in action at Hall B1, Booth 1105! Expert Tips for Efficient Stretch Film Application: Save Material and Protect Better At BioNova Pack, we are committed not only to offering high-quality packaging products but also to ensuring that our customers use them in the most efficient way possible. Here, we share some expert tips for efficiently applying stretch film, ensuring maximum protection for your products while minimizing material use. 🔍 1. Needs Assessment: Before applying stretch film, evaluate the size, weight, and type of load. This will determine the amount and type of film needed to ensure proper protection without waste. 🔄 2. Pre-stretching: Use machines that pre-stretch the film before application. Pre-stretching can increase material efficiency by up to 300%, reducing cost and environmental impact. 📏 3. Uniform Coverage: Ensure uniform coverage around the entire load. Avoid excessive overlaps and make sure that corners and edges are well protected. ⚖️ 4. Correct Tension: Neither too loose nor too tight. Proper tension will prevent damage to the load and the film, ensuring the load remains stable and protected. 🔄 5. From Manual to Machine: Consider transitioning from manual application to automatic or semi-automatic machines. The initial investment may be higher, but the efficiency, uniformity, and long-term material savings justify the switch. ♻️ 6. Sustainable Options: Choose our eco-friendly or recycled stretch film options. Not only will you apply these tips, but you will also contribute to a positive environmental impact. 🔁 7. Review and Optimization: Regularly review your packaging practices. Continuous innovation in materials and technologies can offer new opportunities to improve efficiency and sustainability. By implementing these tips, you will not only improve the efficiency of using stretch film but also contribute to environmental sustainability and the reduction of operational costs. #BioNovaPack #Efficiency #ProductProtection #Sustainability #StretchFilm

Vehicle underbodies made from natural fibers and recycled plastics The project partners Fraunhofer WKI, Thuringian Institute for Textile and Plastics Research (TITK e.V.), Röchling Automotive SE & Co. KG, BBP Kunststoffwerk BBP Kunststoffwerk Marbach Baier GmbH and AUDI AG have succeeded in developing a sustainable overall concept for vehicle underbodies. It is made from #natural fibers and recycled #plastics. The researchers have taken a challenging component group with a high plastic content and made it accessible for the utilization of natural materials. Until now, natural-fiber-reinforced plastics have predominantly been used in #cars for trim parts without significant mechanical functions. Structural components such as vehicle underbodies are, however, exposed to enormous loads and place high demands on the bending and crash behavior of the material. In modern lightweight vehicle concepts, high-performance materials made from glass-fiber-reinforced plastics are therefore utilized. The focus at the Fraunhofer WKI was directed at the development of the materials for injection molding as well as the hydrophobization of #flax and #hemp #fibers for natural-fiber-reinforced mixed-fiber non-wovens. https://lnkd.in/eqDCiQdJ (Image: 政徳 吉田, Pixabay) #automotive #fibers #fibres #recycled #lightweight #cars #technicaltextiles
