🌱📅 As we gear up for a significant week in Italy, starting tomorrow, I'm excited to reflect on the upcoming events and their potential impact on the Community Plant Variety Office (CPVO) and the agricultural sector. We are set to attend several key gatherings, including the "Innovazione e sostenibilità per il futuro dell'agricoltura italiana", on March 19th and the Nova Siri Genetics Open Day on March 21st. These events are not just meetings but a confluence of ideas and innovations. They represent a vital platform for discussing the future of agriculture, especially regarding new plant varieties and sustainable farming techniques. It's a chance to engage with industry leaders, including Francesco Mattina, the President of CPVO, and other experts who drive our sector forward. 🤝🌍 These days will be filled with opportunities to learn, network, and share insights on vital topics, including the importance of plant variety rights in the #EU's economic system and the role of CPVO in fostering agricultural innovation. I anticipate these discussions will be enlightening and instrumental in shaping our approaches to sustainable agriculture. As we embark on this journey, I look forward to sharing updates and insights from these events. Stay tuned for a blend of innovation, collaboration, and sustainable practices straight from the heart of Italy's agricultural community. 👁🗨💬 Follow along for live updates and let's explore together how these events can catalyze positive changes and growth in the agricultural sector globally. #Agriculture #Innovation #Sustainability #CPVO #Italy #UpcomingEvents

This time last week, over 1100 exhibitors were starting to nurse sore feet with day 3 kicking off at the 56th Fieldays® at Mystery Creek in Hamilton. Fieldays is a highlight in the Hot Mustard calendar & our team attend every year. Not just for the mini donuts and brisket burgers, but to see so many of our clients engaging and connecting with their audience in the best way - face to face. A few key takeaways: 💡INNOVATION! The volume of innovative agri-tech on display was mind blowing! From virtual paddock fencing & herd management with Halter, to precision farming tools to help farmers better manage compliance & regulatory requirements with Precision Farming - the utilisation of data to improve farm and livestock performance is going to transform the industry. 🌱 SUSTAINABILITY! This major theme took centre stage, with a wealth of educational sessions in the Sustainability Hub daily, many expertly facilitated by Waikato Regional Council with topics such as Soil Health, Biodiversity and Climate Adaption. There were also numerous exhibitors showcasing new environmentally conscious products & solutions. A stand out for us was Stoney Creeks' launch of their new 100% pure NZ wool range - beautiful and functional with a mission to support NZ wool farmers who have felt immense pressure these past few years. 👏 Brent McConnell 🤝 COMMUNITY! Fieldays is so much more than just an exhibition; it's a community gathering. The importance of face-to-face interactions cannot be overstated. Events like Fieldays® provide invaluable networking opportunities, and build authentic brand engagement that digital platforms alone cannot achieve. We hope all our clients, media partners and other exhibitors have recovered, and we can't wait to see you at the next one. #Fieldays2024 #RuralMarketing #AgriTech #Sustainability #Community #DigitalMarketing

Agritourism is such an important part of keeping farming sustainable financially.
Not all country kids growing up on farms want to be #farmers. Diversifying the farm business into tourism can give the next generation more reasons to stay on the land. With 5% growth in demand for agritourism experiences forecasted by the CSIRO, there's quite a lot of reasons right there! Thanks for the coverage in SA's Yorke Peninsula Times, Rachel Hagan. This month, we are putting the spotlight on local pig and chicken breeds 🌍 This week, we are taking a look at the Turopolje Pig! 🐷 The pig, also called Turopoljska svinja, was created during the Middle Ages in the Turopolje region in Croatia 🇭🇷 As it developed over a long period of time, the breed perfectly adapted to its natural environment 💪 Thanks to its resilience and good adaptation to outdoor rearing, the pig has served as an important food source for the local population for centuries. Visually, it is known for its distinctive sporadic black spots on a white or grey coat, and it has mostly curly hair and drooping, half-folded ears.
