VietShrimp 2024 has come to an end but the enduring values linger within each participant! 😘 ▪ Held for the first time in Ca Mau - the southernmost region of our homeland, VS2024 faced challenges, but with the solidarity of the aquaculture community, it successfully hosted a reputable and high-quality event. ▪ A series of seminars covering relevant, profound, and practical topics analyzed the current situation to collectively resolve and revive the shrimp economy. ▪ VietShrimp 2024 served as a gathering place for both large and small businesses to convene and support one another. Farmers gained firsthand experience by witnessing the products and expanding their knowledge with cutting-edge models. These are positive indicators pointing towards a brighter future. ▪ The organizers of VS2024 are steadfast in our determination, tirelessly striving to seek reputable partners, introduce businesses to farmers, and enhance the professionalism and quality of the event's services. These events are not just meetings but a confluence of ideas and innovations. They represent a vital platform for discussing the future of agriculture, especially regarding new plant varieties and sustainable farming techniques. This time last week, over 1100 exhibitors were starting to nurse sore feet with day 3 kicking off at the 56th Fieldays® at Mystery Creek in Hamilton. Fieldays is a highlight in the Hot Mustard calendar & our team attend every year. Not just for the mini donuts and brisket burgers, but to see so many of our clients engaging and connecting with their audience in the best way - face to face. A few key takeaways: 💡INNOVATION! The volume of innovative agri-tech on display was mind blowing! From virtual paddock fencing & herd management with Halter, to precision farming tools to help farmers better manage compliance & regulatory requirements with Precision Farming - the utilisation of data to improve farm and livestock performance is going to transform the industry. 🌱 SUSTAINABILITY! This major theme took centre stage, with a wealth of educational sessions in the Sustainability Hub daily, many expertly facilitated by Waikato Regional Council with topics such as Soil Health, Biodiversity and Climate Adaption. There were also numerous exhibitors showcasing new environmentally conscious products & solutions. This month, we are putting the spotlight on local pig and chicken breeds 🌍 This week, we are taking a look at the Turopolje Pig! 🐷 The pig, also called Turopoljska svinja, was created during the Middle Ages in the Turopolje region in Croatia 🇭🇷 As it developed over a long period of time, the breed perfectly adapted to its natural environment 💪 Thanks to its resilience and good adaptation to outdoor rearing, the pig has served as an important food source for the local population for centuries. Visually, it is known for its distinctive sporadic black spots on a white or grey coat, and it has mostly curly hair and drooping, half-folded ears.
