What an amazing first day at the Bright Network #IEUK internship programme! My most memorable session was hosted by the lovely Charlotte Sangster from PwC UK where we learnt about building your personal brand. It was a great opportunity for self-reflection, and I will be putting all of these into practice immediately! One of our tasks was to outline our top 5 values and I’ll love to share mine with you: 1. Learning and continuous development 2. Faith/positivity 3. Excellence 4. Leadership (first to myself and then to others) 5. Creativity Now, my personal assignment is to reflect on how to consistently communicate these values through my online and physical interactions. I would love to hear yours, what are your top 5 values?

Collectively, I enjoyed the session because it was really welcoming and the conversation was relatable, talking about imposter syndrome. Charlotte Sangster from PwC UK discussed about building a personal brand. Her discussion was very informative and I learnt the importance of showing one's value through my brand. She further talks about the mistakes that are often made which could possibly impact one's network. It can be little things like posting offensive content on social media, having poor communication skills in a professional environment and showcasing poor integrity or being unprofessional by showing up late to work or missing deadlines. Hearing her discussions made me realise the importance of self-reflection. Overall, this experience is very insightful and I am looking forward to the next few days of the internship. #student #internship #experience #networking

We are continuing to highlight our students interning over the summer! 💡Join us as Connor Dalton 25MBA shares insights and key takeaways from his experience at EY-Parthenon: 1. My favorite thing about my internship so far is the events held by your local office. The internship coordinator team puts in so much work to provide us with fun and unique experiences around the city that you otherwise might not go out of your way to experience for yourself. 2. My biggest takeaway is that being successful in this line of work requires resiliency. 3. If you want to land an internship at EY-P, reach out to practitioners to learn about their professional experiences but also about them as people. And, of course, practice case interviews. 4. My advice for future interns is that no matter how much you think you know going into your internship, you don’t know that much. There is so much to learn and the professionals you get to work worth are a treasure trove of knowledge, so listen and ask questions. Congratulations, Connor! See you soon! #GoizuetaKudos #EY #GoizuetaInterns #SummerInternships #EYParthenon #MBA #bschool

Already Halfway Through My RSM Internship It was just five weeks ago that I was boarding the plane to go to my intern orientation for RSM US LLP. Just looking at the schedule, I didn’t know what to expect and I have to admit I was anxious. That first week was a flood of information that left me eager to get into the office and get to auditing. Now, half of the internship has passed, and it feels like no time at all. Here are three reasons this has been a great experience for me: 1. The friendly workforce – Whether it’s grabbing coffee before work or going to lunch with the whole engagement team, the willingness of people to share their personal time has completely welcomed me. 2. Answers all around – I’ve had so many questions and they’ve all been answered. Most of the time the answer comes quickly, but sometimes it is, “Let me show you where to find that,” or “I don’t know, but I’ll find out”. This is so encouraging and is helping me learn so much. 3. Meaningful tasks – Even the more basic items I’ve completed are part of a bigger picture. Every task has been intentional and makes me feel like I’m really contributing. Those reasons have been really important to me. What has made your internship valuable? Reflecting on My Transformative Internship Experience at IEUK Three months ago, I had the incredible opportunity to participate in a four-day internship at IEUK, an experience that has profoundly shaped my understanding of corporate etiquette, culture, and the pressing issues facing businesses today. As I reflect on this journey, I am filled with gratitude for the insights gained, the connections made, and the invaluable lessons learned. One of the highlights of my internship was the chance to engage with renowned companies like British Airways and PwC. These interactions allowed me to observe firsthand the professionalism and commitment to excellence that define their corporate cultures. The emphasis on teamwork, communication, and the importance of maintaining a positive work environment deeply resonated with me. I learned that successful companies not only prioritize their clients but also invest in their employees' well-being, fostering a healthy workplace culture where everyone can thrive. A key component of my internship experience was listening to inspirational speakers who addressed crucial topics such as diversity in the workplace and sustainability. The discussions around diversity highlighted the importance of inclusive practices in driving innovation and success. It was refreshing to hear from leaders who are committed to creating environments where diverse perspectives are valued and included. Thank you, IEUK internship and Bright Network, for this enriching experience.
