Nurse to patient ratios: the difference between life and death; the difference between a reassuring and ultimately positive hospital experience and a traumatising and negative experience of care. The difference between a good day for a nurse and a super stressful and upsetting day when they can't wait to get home and consider quitting. This is a critical campaign with some excellent research behind it that makes a very strong economic case for mandating minimum ratios; leaving aside the fact that we all know instinctively that one nurse looking after ten patients is generally not a good thing! https://lnkd.in/eXy5MVv9

🌞 Good Morning! Let's talk advocacy for quality care. Its at the heart of our mission. Did you know that studies show hospitals with higher nursing staff to patient ratio have lower odds of mortality? ❓ So what does this mean? ☠ For every 1 patient added to a nurse's workload, there is an associated 7% increase in the likelihood of a patient dying within 30 days of admission. We take these kinds of statistics seriously! 🏥 Retaining experienced nursing staff for patient safety and quality of care is critical for sustainable healthcare. ✍ At NursingFront, we're passionate about advocating for policies and practices that prioritize patient safety. This includes advocating for strategies to retain experienced nursing staff, so workloads stay balanced and fair, and organizations can improve on overall performance and efficiency. Join us in our advocacy efforts by telling us what you think. Have a company you’d like to feature on our platform? Together let’s ensure that every patient receives quality care, every nurse feels supported in their crucial role, and every organization has the resources to support this infrastructure. Help us care for those who take care of us. www.NursingFront.com #QualityCare #PatientSafety #NursingRetention #Advocacy
