Does 𝗟𝗨𝗖𝗞 play a 𝗥𝗢𝗟𝗘 in 𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗚𝗬? We often attribute the success of certain companies to strategic brilliance, but is there an element of luck involved? When discussing learnings from other industries or what's changing in the landscape with C-level executives, a recurring question arises: How much did "luck" contribute to the triumphs of those successful companies? Let's clarify what we mean by "luck." It's not about sheer chance or happenstance; instead, it's about being prepared to seize opportunities when they arise. Take the growth of Zoom during the COVID-19 pandemic or the unexpected boost the NFL received from Taylor Swift's relationship with Travis Kelce. Swift's influence on the NFL is staggering – an estimated $331.5 million in brand value, a 53% increase in viewership among young girls, a 20% rise in sponsorships, and overall higher TV ratings across all age groups. Her presence has brought families together, with daughters becoming interested in football. However, the NFL didn't simply stumble upon this "luck." Their previous strategic initiatives, like partnering with Roblox for a metaverse presence to resonate with younger generations (with more limited impact), or establishing partnerships with streaming services, have brought learnings and laid the groundwork to capitalize on unexpected opportunities like Swift's involvement. Successful companies don't rely on luck alone; they make strategic decisions that position them to take advantage of favorable conditions when they arise. The real question is: How well is your company prepared to harness good or bad luck? Link in the comments 👇 #innovation #transformation #strategy #disruption

🚀 Reimagining the Market Landscape: A Shift from the Magnificent Seven In the dynamic world of stocks, change is the only constant. The famed "Magnificent Seven" has been steering the market's course, but I propose a recalibration. It's time for Broadcom (AVGO) to join the league, replacing Tesla (TSLA). While acknowledging the resilience of FAANG, which shares common ground with the Mag 7, it's crucial to recognize the evolving dynamics. The FAANG acronym, once synonymous with market leaders, has given way to a new ensemble – retaining AAPL, AMZN, GOOGL, and META, while welcoming Microsoft (MSFT) and AVGO into the spotlight. This isn't the first time I've advocated for a change in market acronyms. Back in 2021, I suggested MANNA-ATM or GAMMA as alternatives, both foreseeing shifts in market dynamics. The landscape has evolved, and it's time for another revamp based on size and performance. Why AVGO? Size matters, and with a market cap of $572 billion, it stands strong. Recent re-weighting in NDX has bolstered AVGO's prominence, outshining both META and TSLA. But it's not just about size; it's about performance. AVGO's recent surge, mirroring the momentum of NVDA, is telling. Up 44.6% since the rocket-ship rally began on November 1st, AVGO stands as a force to be reckoned with. As we await TSLA's Q4 earnings, the prospect of a roster move beckons. The recent underperformance hints at subdued expectations, but only time will unveil the true narrative. Whether TSLA stages a comeback or AVGO solidifies its position, the winds of change are upon us. #marketinsights #investingwisdom #financialrevolution #stockmarketupdates

I've been thinking a lot about the games we think we have to play, in our lives at large, but especially in our work. At its most basic, doing the things we think we have to do to "be ok" and at its best (or worst) to falling in with what we're told we need to do to "succeed". Falling into sector speak, behaving "professionally" or putting up with certain behaviours because that's how its done... So, I'm interested. What are your least favourite games in your sector or industry? (I'm guessing flagging organisational bullshit or team politics might be a bit ripe for LinkedIn)... More interesting though, is how would you like to show up, if you could just be you? #transformation

Once a meteoric success, now a breathtaking descent. Zoom , Peloton Interactive, DoorDash and Wayfair saw meteoric rises as the world adapted to working, exercising and dining from home. But as life returns to normal, this video explores the dramatic fall of these "pandemic winners" - how their soaring valuations and stock prices came crashing back down as the unique situations that fueled their growth ended. From Zoom's $77 billion plunge to Peloton Interactive's 97% drop from its peak, it dissects the rise and fall of corporations propelled then undermined by COVID's disruptions. #riseandfall #covid #pandemic #pelaton #zoom #wayfair #doordash

LinkedIn, the globally recognized professional networking and recruitment platform with a vast user base exceeding 1 billion, is stepping into the gaming arena to elevate user experience and extend engagement within the platform. This unexpected foray into gaming by LinkedIn is inspired by the immense popularity of straightforward puzzle games like Wordle, motivating the company to explore fresh avenues for user interaction and entertainment. The introduction of gaming on LinkedIn features titles such as "Queen," "Inference," and "Crossclimb," catering to the puzzle gaming frenzy that has enthralled millions of players worldwide. Although a LinkedIn spokesperson has confirmed the gaming aspect of the project, an official release date is pending announcement. Emphasizing the strategic significance, the spokesperson highlights that integrating puzzle games aims to enrich user satisfaction, facilitate connections, and spark meaningful conversations. Operating under Microsoft's umbrella, a major force in the gaming industry renowned for products like Xbox and the recent acquisition of Activision Blizzard, LinkedIn's venture into gaming complements Microsoft's broader gaming strategy. However, precise details regarding Microsoft's role in LinkedIn's gaming initiative remain undisclosed. #AuroxaTech #LinkedIn #GamingPlatform #UserEngagement #PuzzleGames #Microsoft #StrategicMove #InteractiveExperience #ProfessionalNetworking #Recruitment #GamingIndustry

Like it or not, advertising is a big part of the Olympics. And in 2024, some companies won viewers over with their messaging, while others struggled to recover after a loss. Toyota was one of the clear winners. Their “Start Your Impossible” campaign shared moving stories of diverse Olympic and Paralympic athletes who overcame incredible odds to participate in the Games. This fit in well with the theme of this year’s Paris 2024 Olympic Games, “Ouvrons grand les Jeux." That’s “Games Wide Open” in English, and indicates a focus on access and inclusion. Toyota connected to this theme by positioning themselves as a company that provides mobility solutions for all. While Toyota soared, Google stumbled. Like Toyota, Google aimed at the heart with a story of a father helping his daughter write a “perfect” letter to her Olympic heroine. But his solution wasn’t to say, “speak from your heart,” but rather, “Google’s Gemini AI software can do this for you.” Suggesting that an effortless shortcut was the way to connect with someone who worked hard to reach the top was mocked so heavily on social media that Google had to pull the ad. Toyota understood the art of talking to an Olympic audience. But they also had the advantage of being a long-time sponsor who had tested that campaign in previous Olympic Games. And while Google belly flopped badly with that one ad, they also created several engaging spots for Gemini, including one demonstrating how to use it to look up Olympic gymnastic terms in real time in order to better understand the sport. Not every message is going to land. Sometimes we misjudge the audience, or push a little too hard in the direction we want to push them. When Google did that, they were at least smart enough to accept the error and cut their losses. Have you ever had a message fall flat? How did you handle it? #messaging #brandvoice #olympics https://lnkd.in/eNaJJNmE

"I cannot emphasize this point enough: if you're entering APAC, these markets move quickly. You've got a lot of nimble local players, so agility must be at the core of your operations, not just within the central team but also the regional teams. They need to move fast, learn what's happening, and act accordingly." Just wrapped up a great event with Sandeep Suvarna, an experienced APAC Exec at LinkedIn, Twitch, and The Walt Disney Company. 🙌 Sandeep shares compelling examples from his experience at LinkedIn, Twitch, and Disney, emphasizing how understanding and adapting to local differences can drive significant growth, while failing to do so can lead to missed opportunities or even loss of market share to more nimble competitors. 🚀🌎 Ready to learn more? Exciting News! In just 2 Days, I'm thrilled to launch my first ever 3-Day Virtual Event, dedicated to empowering individuals to make 2024 their triumphant comeback year. Over the past three months, I've poured my heart and soul into creating the Elevate360 Challenge – an immersive experience titled "Discovering Your Ultimate Self," and guess what? It's absolutely FREE! Secure your spot now at https://lnkd.in/gSdFM3Q4 For the last four years, I've been privileged to craft and shape cutting-edge events, collaborating with the CEO of Zoom on numerous occasions, especially during the challenging times of the pandemic. While those experiences were incredible, I realized they were primarily reaching fellow entrepreneurs ready to make significant investments. Upon reflection, I noticed a gap – a gap that excluded those who genuinely needed motivation, support, and help. Rather than becoming just another salesperson in the crowd, I made a conscious decision. I decided to give myself the same dedication, commitment, and support that I've offered to others and more. Why? Because I believe I deserve to deliver my very best, not just for others but for myself as well. I've made a personal commitment to seek out and join forces with the right people, delivering an unparalleled experience for those who truly need support. This is not just about building empires for others; it's about building one for us – for those seeking a comeback, for those who've faced setbacks and struggles, much like myself every day. This is personal, it's raw, and I refuse to fail. Join me, show your support, make your comeback, and let's stand tall together for a WIN. https://lnkd.in/gSdFM3Q4 #newyearnewyou #newyearnewme
