Are you an advocate of limiting the effects of climate change? Are you looking for a platform to showcase your research on the overarching implications of climate change transcending across the economic, political, social, and cultural realms? If yes, this post is for you. Project Urvi is an initiative under the flagship of Academia for Sustainable Development aimed at raising awareness of Climate Change's Disproportionate Impact on the Global South. To promote Social Science Research on Climate Change and provide a Supportive Environment for Academic Discussion, Project Urvi is hosting its first-ever Research Presentation Competition “ClimateQuest: Navigating Challenges, Cultivating Solutions, and Shaping Tomorrow" We are looking for research papers which can unveil the nexus between climate change, institutions, agriculture and food security, displacement of the populace and the intersectionality between genders. The first phase of the competition calls for Abstracts of not more than 500 words via the Google form attached below. The last day for submission is 31st January. OUR GOAL @ Expedition Science We bring Researchers and Investors together. Getting scientists to the places they need to reach and giving investors powerful stories of real climate research projects that are delivering a genuine impact. Businesses are fed up of funding green initiatives that aren’t relatable, credible or real. That's where we come in. ➡ We work with world-leading climate academics and researchers to find credible academics projects that are delivering genuine science. ➡ We find investors who want to make their green investments work harder for them. ➡ We document the research, go behind the scenes and tell inspiring climate stories for the world to know and share. _________________________ FOLLOW US as our journey begins! #expeditionscience #climateresearch #makingsciencehappen

💭 How can individual #researchers shift, rather than reinforce, unequal power relations in climate and environmental research? Explore practical ways to challenge and #decolonize existing research practices. Key messages of the SEI — Stockholm Environment Institute brief include: 💡 Climate and environment researchers should incorporate well-established decolonization literature within their own work. 💡 Researchers should aim for collaborative and co-productive methodologies that center on the needs of the communities where they conduct their research. 💡 Structural barriers present challenges for researchers to shift power individually. The international community of researchers, research institutions and funders must work together to spur meaningful, long-term changes in dominant funding models and established practices and norms. 🔥 Climate Change: Systematic Review Uncovers Difficulties in Understanding Climate Change 🔥 In an exciting research collaboration between the University of Innsbruck and the University of Graz, Sarah Wildbichler, Claudia Haagen-Schützenhöfer, and Thomas Schubatzky have published a systematic review in the prestigious journal Studies in Science Education (Q1, Acceptance Rate: only 3%!) https://lnkd.in/dXba3vxN . „Students’ ideas about the scientific underpinnings of climatechange: a systematic review of the literature“: Their systematic review analyzes 44 scientific studies from the last ten years (579 articles screened!) on students' conceptions of climate change. The findings reveal that students have significant gaps in understanding key concepts of climate change, such as the greenhouse effect and the carbon cycle. These insights highlight critical levers to improve education and prepare a generation capable of tackling climate change! 🌍🚀 #WeWorkForTomorrow #FutureEducation #UniversityOfGraz #ClimateChange #Education #Research #ClimateLiteracy

Water quality is an ongoing concern as climate warms, especially in rivers. Yet different scientific disciplines have different ways of studying, modeling and understanding river systems. A recent review in Nature Climate Change shows the importance of the connections between rivers and the land they flow through - and, says study co-author and University of Vermont prof. Julia Perdrial, of making connections across scientific disciplines. “This is why transdisciplinary projects are critical: they provide opportunities for integrating different ways of understanding a system.” Perdrial also sees opportunities that extend beyond the specific ideas discussed in this review. "I hope, moving forward, that interdisciplinary work, undertaken with mutual respect and genuine collaboration, becomes a very clear requirement of the training, education and professional development that scientists receive." Attention UC-CSU Researchers! 🔍 California’s Fifth Climate Change Assessment is looking for Coordinating Lead Authors in the development of topical synthesis reports. This is your chance to bring together existing research, resources, and findings from the Fifth Assessment's climate research programs. While the focus is on synthesizing current knowledge, there may be opportunities to develop new insights as needed.📋 ECCLPs is passionate about advocating for environmental and climate change education and pushed for a dedicated education assessment report in this. While this was not selected as a topical focus area, we encourage authors to contribute expertise to critical areas such as Racial Equity & Climate Justice, Climate-Induced Human Displacement & Migration, and Climate Impacts to the Economy. We invite researchers and representatives to join this initiative! 🌎💡 Interested in being part of this important work? Join us in making a difference! Climate change is one of the biggest challenges facing our planet today, and literature offers a unique perspective on this pressing issue. "#VulnerableEarth: The Literature of Climate Crisis" is a book that explores this intersection between literature and the environment. Authored by #ProfPramodKNayar, a faculty member at the #UniversityofHyderabad, the book delves into how literature reflects and engages with the challenges posed by climate change. The book likely examines various literary works that address climate-related themes, shedding light on how writers across different cultures and time periods have portrayed environmental degradation, natural disasters, human impact on ecosystems, and efforts to mitigate climate change. By doing so, "#VulnerableEarth" offers insights into the ways in which literature can influence public perception, policy-making, and collective responses to environmental challenges. Published by the prestigious #CambridgeUniversityPress, the book is a scholarly contribution to the field of ecocriticism, environmental humanities, and literary studies. It may appeal to academics, students, researchers, policymakers, and anyone interested in understanding the relationship between literature and the environment in the context of the ongoing #climatecrisis. In these times of environmental uncertainty, "#VulnerableEarth" provides a unique perspective on the climate crisis, and how literature can be used as a powerful tool for raising awareness, inspiring action, and fostering dialogue about #environmentalissues.

🗓 On December 18th, 2023, I participated in the Microlympia Workshop as an organization department. 🌏 Workshop - "Sustainable Development - The crossing point of consumers and businesses in the green era". 🍃 "Green Economics" is the most mentioned phrase in the current green era. Answering the question of how the Green Economy plays a crucial role in today's climate change context. This workshop aims to provide participants with an overview of the impact of Green Economics on environmental changes.
