For our #nonprofitpartnerspotlight #SMMmealNPOrecipient of the week, we are reading and shining a light on Rescue Mission of Trenton's annual report from last year. Writes CEO Barrett Young, "The Mission meets people where they live, often at one of the lowest points in their lives," providing support to those who need it through eight channels. These are The Shelter, Behavioral Health Center, Vocational Development, The New Direction Program, Supportive Housing, Outreach, Thrift Store, and Food Pantry. The organization's guiding principle is: "Look into the eyes of someone who is struggling. See their pain. And we ask that you also see their potential." #trentonrescuemission

Each and every day we pause to reflect on "our why" because it is important. Rare families and the rare disease nonprofits that help them are vital to the heartbeat of our organization. We hold rare families especially close to our hearts in all we do. We strive to strengthen the voice of the rare patient journey and increase the visibility of rare nonprofit resources through Code Rare because they face unique barriers and work to solve challenges most struggle to comprehend. The rare journey is never easy. Each new challenge only strengthens our resolve to accomplish the "impossible" together. #makerarevisibleinhealthcare #makerarevisible #raredisease #patientadvocacy #rarediseaseawareness #RareStrides #rarewish #HappyThanksgiving

Annual reports, gratitude reports, and impact reports — some of my favorite types of projects. I enjoy taking the individual elements and figuring out how they'll work together as part of a bigger picture. This gratitude report was inspired by one photo provided by our partners at the Health Wagon. Our team took that inspiration, developed a concept, and then carried it out from cover to cover. This was one of my favorite projects from 2023. We're making some exciting shifts in the approach for this year's report, and I can't wait to see the results. Design: Matthew Childers | Copywriting: Summer Stanley
We always appreciate the opportunity to partner with The Health Wagon, a nonprofit beacon of hope in Southwest Virginia. Each year as we start work on their Gratitude Report, we take a look back at the previous year’s report for ideas on how to make it even better. The 2022 Gratitude Report showcased heartwarming stories of lives touched by the nonprofit’s unwavering care and was one of the tools that helped the Health Wagon raise $132,189 from individuals that year! https://ow.ly/mYw550Qq2Vp #healthwagon #gratitudereport #annualreports

Dear LinkedIn Connections, Today, I come to you with a heavy heart, compelled to share a truth that often goes unnoticed in our world. I recently posted this video that showcases the cold and indifferent treatment of poor children, highlighting their unimaginable suffering. As I watched this innocent girl child who was tortured by the woman UpTo death, it has endured pain and neglect, my heart shattered into pieces. It is a haunting reminder of the harsh reality that many children face, especially those who have lost their parents and everything they once knew. It is a reality that we cannot turn a blind eye to. In that moment, I found myself wishing for an abundance of shelters, a place where I could provide these children with the love, care, and safety they so desperately need. I envisioned a care center where they could find solace, surrounded by other children who have also experienced the depths of poverty and loss. Yet, the heartbreaking truth is that I am already facing countless challenges in caring for the impoverished children under my wing. Resources are limited, and the demand for support is overwhelming. It is a battle that I fight every day, knowing that the need is far greater than what I can provide. I share this message not to seek sympathy, but to implore each and every one of you to open your hearts and take action. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of these vulnerable children. It may be through donating, volunteering, or simply spreading awareness. The impact of even the smallest gesture can be immeasurable. Let us use our platforms, our connections, and our influence to shed light on the plight of these children. Let us challenge the status quo and advocate for a society that champions their rights and well-being. Let us refuse to accept a world where their suffering goes unnoticed and unaddressed. I invite you to watch the video I shared, not for its shock value, but as a call to action. Let it be a catalyst for change, a reminder that we all have a role to play in shaping a more compassionate and equitable world. Together, let us be the voice for those who cannot speak for themselves. 😭😭 . many poor children is suffering tu death here and most of those who doesn't have where to live.

Nontoxic Nonprofits was born of the belief – solidified over many years in the nonprofit world – that a healthy culture is more fundamentally essential to a nonprofit’s success than anything else. It is simply not possible to reach or expand an organization’s potential when toxicity is present. Yea it’s a five minute video, who watches those anymore! However, if you followed us over the course of Serve Week 2024 (The Ocho) this is an awesome wrap up and great work by the team. We try and use LinkedIn to open a window into our culture. And while Foundry Commercial isn’t perfect and we will always have work to do in pursuit of our standards, I think this is one of the things we get really right. We are a services company and spending time with these amazing organizations, which we encourage you to check out and support, reminds us what true service looks like. It is a week where we try to give back and we always end up getting so much more than we give. Great job Lauren and the entire Serve Week support team. #foundrycommercial #itspersonal #theocho #serveweek2024

The Empathy Toolkit workbook includes an exercise designed to offer a very small feeling of helplessness. During workshops, students do this while I tell a story, but at home they are instructed to do this: Raise your arm high into the air. Put it down when you feel uncomfortable. A helpless patient who relies on others to help them doesn't have that luxury. This time, put your arm up, but instead of YOU deciding when to put it down, the CLOCK will decide for you. Hold your arm up for: 1 minute 5 minutes 10 minutes 30 minutes When your arm stops aching, record your thoughts. We need some help to continue distributing the Empathy Toolkits. Please consider a tax-deductible donation to Lifetime of Impact, a project of San Francisco Public Health Foundation. https://lnkd.in/gzvNNJ_t
