We are facing a turning point for change in our watersheds. Connectivity, water quality, and industry pressures are pushing so many aquatic species to the brink. We are seeing these devastating trends with Atlantic salmon here in the Wolastoq watershed on the east coast of Canada. I often think about how much of an impact I can really have when I open upstream access to a single tributary, in a single river, in a single and small area of the country. Then I think of these small measures and actions being undertaken by so many organizations across the country. When added together, they create lasting and powerful change.
"If we don't do something now and conserve what little salmon we have left – one day there's not going to be any."
