Growing Urgent Care & Occupational Medicine Practices Since 1999 | Expert in Practice Expansion and Lead Generation
If your urgent care facility is experiencing the typical slowdown during the late spring to early summer season, you're likely noticing underutilized staff members. We're all familiar with the saying, "if there's time enough to lean, there's time enough to clean." While maintaining cleanliness is a given, the challenge remains: how do you keep your urgent care team productive during these quieter periods when patient flow decreases? A practical approach is to engage your team in building relationships with local employers, especially if you provide occupational medicine services. This doesn't necessarily mean initiating cold calls (though it's a bonus if team members are willing and skilled at it). Begin by tapping into your employees' community connections. Give them a list of current clients for reference and ask them to identify local employers not on the list who could benefit from your services. Insights on these potential clients can be incredibly valuable for your business development strategies. Investing time this summer in expanding your occupational medicine client base won't immediately surge patient numbers. However, identifying and engaging with the right prospects can yield quick wins. The real value lies in the long-term relationships, the continuous flow of patients, and the revenue they bring. Diversifying your client base in this way also prepares your practice to navigate future slow seasons and market shifts more smoothly. Looking for help in growing your occ med business? Growing Urgent Care & Occupational Medicine Practices Since 1999 | Expert in Practice Expansion and Lead Generation
Have you optimized your Google Business Profile? One of the most important things you can do is to select the right categories. Only your primary category will be displayed to users, but you can add additional categories that will help drive relevant searches. If you are exclusively or primarily an occupational medicine practice, your primary category should be "Occupational health service". Additional categories that we often use include: -Medical clinic -Occupational medical physician -Occupational safety and health If you are an urgent care clinic or another specialty that offers occ med as an additional service, then your primary category should reflect your main focus, with the occ med categories above used as your additional options. #occupationalhealth #googlebusinessprofile #urgentcare #occmedgrowth #urgentcaremarketing

Is Physical Therapy Getting the Recognition It Deserves? Physical therapy plays a crucial role in healthcare beyond just rehabilitation. It focuses on pain relief, enhancing mobility, and strengthening the body, whether it's recovering from an injury or managing a chronic condition. Similarly, occupational therapy aids individuals in daily activities, improving their overall quality of life. Despite their significance, physical and occupational therapies often receive less attention compared to other medical treatments. It's time to acknowledge their vital contributions and integrate them into comprehensive health plans, not as mere alternatives. Let's advocate together for the broader recognition and utilization of physical and occupational therapy in our healthcare systems. #PhysicalTherapy #OccupationalTherapy #Healthcare #Advocacy

As a PT that left my traditional outpatient clinic for a non-traditional role, I can attest to most of the sentiments mentioned in this article. I have seen AI and other health technologies come to the aid of clinicians, creating better work life balance and increasing their reach and impact on patients. I have also seen the benefit of having clinicians in various other fields such as app development, customer success, sales, etc... expand the way companies view their interaction and engagement with their users/ consumers/ patients. 🔍 Why the Change? Burnout and Work-Life Balance Career Growth and Opportunities Diverse Skill Application And a various other reasons... This shift is not just beneficial for clinicians but also for the healthcare industry as a whole. Diverse roles allow for a more holistic approach to health and wellness, integrating technology, policy, and patient care in innovative ways. https://lnkd.in/e4DFXx7Q

There is a lot of negativity out there surrounding rehab therapy and the profession as well as the state of our future. But, rather than focusing on the negatives, (and believe me there are a lot of places we can improve) I choose to focus on all the ways that occupational therapists are naturally placed to excel. One area where our expertise shines is in virtual care and telehealth. Through my work at Reactiv, I've witnessed firsthand the benefits that telehealth offers both therapists and patients. As an OT, we thrive in helping people in their own environment. And what better way to treat a patient...than in their environment. My experience has shown me that this approach not only fosters a stronger rapport but also cements a foundation of trust and respect in the clinician-patient relationship. It also leverages technology to enhance our ability to treat patients more effectively (could go on and on about this). Yes of course, challenges and barriers exist, but the opportunity to innovate and advance our field by focusing on our strengths is far more rewarding. Let's not dwell on the past but instead, forge ahead, highlighting and expanding on the areas where OTs naturally excel. I'm curious 🤔 —what other positions or areas do you think are well-suited for OTs? Share your thoughts below and let's continue to focus on our strengths! #occupationaltherapy #rehabilitation #virtualcare #telehealth #digitalhealth
