Combining contemporary and traditional styles in sarees has become a popular trend these days. Traditional sarees hold a deep cultural significance, reflecting ancient traditions and craftsmanship. On the other hand, contemporary sarees embrace modern elements, applying innovative fabrics, prints, and embellishments. https://lnkd.in/e57p3Xsr

Global Circular Network Digital Product Passport & EPR circular economy Platform via RFiD THREADS® & cloud App. World’s 1st bulk scanning, washable RFID thread/ STSC Sustainable Textile Wholesale/ bio-textile developer
Exactly what’s needed 🙏🏼 embracing artisans and paying them correctly, using existing textiles (tho there’s so so much plastic), tailoring made-to measure and encouraging mending plus with patches so people can make their own statement. Making us connected to the clothes we wear so we care more about the resources, the makers, designers, artisans and when they’re made for longevity with quality textiles and manufacturing then they can have many lives to rent, resale, repair and redesign before heading to recycling. How darn exciting; I’m going to reach out to see if they’d like to use our RFiD Threads Digital Product Passport to connect the lifecycle, show authenticity and traceability of materials plus when, who and how was its life extended. And then communicate with the recyclers so they can try safely keep any forever chemicals out of fibre 2 fibre recycling especially for clothes worn close to our skin. Circlolink. Digital Products Passport via RFiD THREADS® can help retain and collect the products circular story ♻️💚♻️ #DPP #productstewardship #traceability #circularfashion #ecocouture #circularity #digitalID #smarttextiles

Some more about my experience as an artisan and designer for The King's Foundation and YOOX NET-A-PORTER.
For Flavia Nistor, one of the artisans on our flagship training programme with The King's Foundation, it’s never been more important to learn from the veterans of traditional craftsmanship: “There are still artisans alive today who can pass on their skills. We need to show people that these skills are still invaluable.” Proudly inspired by her Romanian heritage, Flavia is interested in collaborating with her home country’s artisans to revive their crafts through the lens of modern fashion design. this kind of application is what sets the real creatives apart from the simple adapters. very creative use of the interconnectiveness of technology these days.
Heat-reactive Fashion! This captivating collection, masterminded by the innovative designer Kunihiko Morinaga for Anrealage, showcases the mesmerizing artistry of heat-reactive colors. At first glance, the collection may have seemed like a simple array of white garments for the fall season, but it soon unveiled its astonishing and ingenious secret. This brilliant use of contrasting elements turned plain white into a canvas of wonder and brilliance. The beauty of this technique did not go unnoticed, as it found its way into the wardrobe of the iconic Beyoncé during her spectacular Renaissance Tour. Some of my favorite quotes from Iris Apfel: "Fashion you can buy, but style you possess. The key to style is learning who you are, which takes years. There's no how-to road map to style. It's about self-expression and, above all, attitude." - Iris Apfel "You have to look in the mirror and see yourself. If it feels good, then I know it's for me. I don't dress to be stared at, I dress for myself." - Iris Apfel "I don't have any rules because I'd only be breaking them, so it's a waste of time." - Iris Apfel "More is more, and less is a bore." - Iris Apfel "Color can raise the dead." - Iris Apfel "Your individuality is your only asset, don't conform just for the sake of it. You're worth more than that." - Iris Apfel Last but not least : “If you’re happy, have found love, are surrounded by good people, doing what you like, and giving back to others, that’s success. Selling your soul for a buck is not worth the real price you pay." the inimitable Iris Apfel. Rest in peace.
Iris Apfel, the interior designer and fashion tastemaker who found fame as an octogenarian, has died aged 102. Stu Loeser, a spokesman for her estate, confirmed her death to multiple US outlets but did not give a cause of death. It is understood she died at her home in Palm Beach, Florida, on Friday. As an eminent authority on antique fabrics, Apfel consulted on restoration projects including work at the White House. The subject of several museum exhibitions and a documentary, Apfel more recently starred in campaigns for H&M, eBay, Citroën and even had a Barbie doll made in her likeness. The bespectacled New Yorker had carved out a vivacious, idiosyncratic personal style with a heavy dose of wit. Describing herself as “the world’s oldest living teenager” in her Instagram bio where she amassed more than 2 million followers, she wrote “more is more and less is a bore.” Read more below.
