Last week, Gordon Semple, our Consultancy and Specialist Services Director, spoke at the Made Smarter Innovation - Smart Manufacturing Data Hub 2024 Summit in Belfast. Gordon discussed the role of digital transformation within Industry 5.0 and highlighted Booth Welsh’s progress in adopting these cutting-edge technologies to better serve our clients and the industry.✅   As part of our efforts, Booth Welsh secured funding from the Digital Innovation Fund (DIF) under the Made Smarter Innovation - Smart Manufacturing Data Hub (SMDH) initiative. This initiative is designed to support manufacturing SMEs in their journey towards digital transformation.   A key project under the SMDH framework is the development of the Energy Monitoring Dashboard, a digital tool designed at helping businesses enhance their energy efficiency. We’ve already seen success with our pilot programmes involving Taste of Arran and Emergency One Group Ltd. News from our R&D activities: I spoke on the LF Energy summit in Brussels recently (5 Sep), about the KIFLIN project. This project is special for several reasons: - it can be seen as a win-win between past and future R&D projects, by transferring knowledge into a more re-usable form. #FlexMeasures gets an algorithm donated which was developed by TNO - this is the aspect I highlighted in the lightning talk below (10 minutes) - it will progress #S2 implementation in FlexMeasures and also a #heatpump ORM (Itho Daalderop) - S2 is an exciting open standard for assets and EMS to exchange information on what is possible w.r.t. energy flexibility. - FlexMeasures will get (even nicer) tutorials for other organizations to get started with using it as HEMS Looking forward to working on this! 🥸 🎉 KIFLIN is an R&D project funded by TKI Urban Energy.
