Happy Fourth of July! As Americans, many spend this holiday traveling or enjoying time with friends and families at barbecues, the beach or other festivities. Let’s not forget, today should also serve as an opportunity to reflect on the work and bravery of our nation’s #FoundingFathers and how we leverage their vision to continue impacting our growth and those around us. QBE wishes you a happy and safe #IndependenceDay! #QBE #July4th #DeclarationofIndependence

There is Dignity in Labour! As Christians, St. Paul clearly admonished that” if any would not work, neither should he eat”. 2 Thessalonians 3:10 (KJV)” Growing up, we did loads of menial jobs ranging from tilling the ground for others for a pay to pushing of wheelbarrows in the market , serving of mason at construction sites and other legal stuffs just to make money that we are proud to spend as ours. Recently, able bodied people shy away from doing some jobs because they tag them belittling to their status, you’re not rich and yet highly selective of jobs. How can you be broke and proud? It baffles me, you can’t get your financial needs sorted by looking for giveaways online or soliciting for help from strangers. Most people are happy to assist you when they see the effort you’re making and clear plans you have in place to establish yourself. Many business tycoons of modern history has something in common… their days of humble beginnings. Take for instance, Obi Cubana who runs conglomerate of businesses under the cubana group was once selling isiewu as a small business venture. We should not always look at the big picture while ignoring the building process. We should always do whatever jobs available while awaiting for the big opportunities as the little experiences we gather along the way will prepare us for the greater things to come. My name is Johnpaul I am a nurse, a pragmatic fellow and inspire others to get better. Roll your sleeves and get to work. Happy new week🤝

Executive Director | Charity Leader | Consultant | Changemaker – Charity, Education, Environment, Community Sectors. Driving transformation and growth to impact lives.
Thanks Kate. Great as ever. We do need a new compact for #protectedlandscapes One which recognises that power over these landscapes needs to sit with a new order. The young. The disenfranchised. The working class. The global majority. The potential of these places for people and nature is significant. And some of this is being realised. But we won’t turn dial on access and nature until new and different people have voice and power. And until we recognise nuance. That food, farming and nature don’t have to compete. That managed tourism is a vital part of landscape economies and access. That people have to live in these spaces so affordable housing and infrastructure are essential. That heritage and nature are intertwined. New Duty a ray of hope (and genius lobby) but it doesn’t just need legal challenge - it also needs a spirit of collaboration where we show the value of these landscapes to public and outline what it looks like to ‘further’. We need new ways of working. New collaborations. Embracing tech and data. New models of governance are emerging. Taking best of 75 years but looking forward. National Trails UK National Parks England National Landscapes Association are all showing some new thinking. Silkin’s vision was egalitarian. Would we argue - despite best efforts and pockets of brillance - it it’s implementation has been almost anything but? Now’s the time to mean #landscapesforall Thanks for your continued work Kate.
75 years since Lewis Silkin spoke of 'a people's charter' at 2nd reading of National Parks and Access to the Countryside Act 1949. We need a new movement for our protected landscapes https://lnkd.in/eQiyGQE9

Creative master facilitator 🌟 Facilitation mentor 🌟 Visual Facilitation coach 🌟 Facilitation trainer | Speaks about (Fl)awesome Facilitation | Embracing Unpredictability | Connection |
'Where's the facilitator?' If someone in a group asks this question when I'm facilitating, I think it's a good sign. It usually means I've left the room and the immersed group to get on with their work. I popped back in to take this group's photo 😉 📷 Tip: ask them to 'bunch up', not line up; stand on a 🪑 or find some way to take the shot from above. Say something that will make them smile. For this group committed to helping people through personal insolvency, I think I said 'affordable and appropriate' (you had to be there 😃). #facilitation #workshops #personalinsolvency
I've just come back from a couple of great days in Melbourne. Thanks to Emma and the team at the Australian Financial Security Authority (AFSA) for having me at their Vulnerability Workshop (pictured below). It was also great to meet with David Berry and learn more about the exciting new Compensation Scheme of Last Resort.

Big believer in the golden opportunity that early childhood presents to create a healthier, happier society | Love the great outdoors | Leadership, community, impact, engagement |
The Business Taskforce for Early Childhood have set out the scale of opportunity that exists to generate significant social and economic return, by improving early childhood experiences and increasing support for the adults in children's lives (and yes, that's all of us!). Take a look at their report and the five key areas of opportunity for impact: ⭐ Building a culture that prioritises early childhood within businesses, local communities, and wider society. ⭐ Helping families facing the greatest challenges access the basic support and essentials they need. ⭐ Offering parents and carers greater support, resources, choice, and flexibility with their work. ⭐ Prioritising and nurturing social and emotional skills in young children and the adults in their lives. ⭐ Supporting initiatives which increase access to quality, affordable and reliable early childhood education and care. https://lnkd.in/eHvfK8xn
“Last year, Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales brought us together. She asked us to think radically about our approach to early childhood and the golden opportunity it presents to transform the lives of children today, as well as their future life outcomes. "Since then, our organisations have come together to share our knowledge and experience, as well as deepen our own understanding of the importance of early childhood development, to establish this comprehensive and compelling business case for change. “If we get this right, the results for business, for the economy and for society are clear for all to see: a happier, more productive workforce today; a future workforce equipped with the skills needed to deal with all the complexity and challenges of the modern world, and £45.5 billion in value added for the national economy each year. “As leaders of some of the UK’s largest businesses, we have a responsibility, but also a very clear vested interest in driving change in this area. We hope this report will encourage businesses of all sizes, across the UK, to join us and help build a healthy, happy society for everyone.” - The Royal Foundation Business Taskforce for Early Childhood members. https://lnkd.in/eF77USze Deloitte, Aviva, Co-op, IKEA, Iceland Foods, the LEGO Group, NatWest Group, Unilever. #CaseforEarlychildhood
