We have seized an unlicensed cannabis truck in Sunnyside and charged the owner with illegal sale and possession. Our enforcement efforts will continue against illegal dispensaries that sell unregulated product targeting our children, evade tax revenue and undercut legal vendors. https://lnkd.in/ey-iuTk3

https://lnkd.in/eb3wAw9n With cannabis legalization in New York and New Jersey, an unintended consequence has reared its head – the proliferation of illegal smoke shops. 🚨 These clandestine outlets are more than just a nuisance; they're a tangible threat to public safety and the integrity of the legal cannabis movement. These illegal shops skirt the law, offering untaxed, unregulated, and potentially harmful products. The absence of compliance not only jeopardizes consumer safety but also sows seeds of violence with cash-based transactions making them prime targets for armed robberies. This is a double-edge sword to patrons and the community at large. Plus, it's not just about dodging taxes or skimping on quality control. A recent bust in Manhattan uncovered fentanyl-laced products on the shelves – highlighting the stark reality of substance danger in these unmonitored environments. It's clear that our communities and the blooming legal cannabis industry deserve better. That's why there's an increasing push for initiatives like the Smokeout Act, aiming to empower law enforcement in clamping down on these rogue operations. ✊💼 Join the conversation on how we tackle this growing concern and uphold the standards of the legal cannabis industry. Because when the smoke clears, it's the safety and well-being of our communities that should remain our highest priority. #CannabisCommunity #PublicSafety #SmokeoutAct #Legalization #CommunityHealth

Three state-regulated marijuana retailers in western Massachusetts are suing a town government for almost $6 million over “community impact fees” levied as part of their host community agreements. The fees, which are levied on top of local taxes, are meant to help municipal governments offset the potential costs of hosting cannabis businesses. However, the three retailers suing the town of Great Barrington – Farnsworth Fine Cannabis, Rebelle and Theory Wellness – argue that the town has not incurred any extra costs from their businesses. “As time has gone on, it’s become more and more apparent that there’s no financial impact on any of these municipalities,” the plaintiffs’ attorney, David Rich, told MassLive.com. #cannabistaxes #cannabisbusinesses #cannabisdispensaries #marijuanabusinesses #retailcannabis #regulatedmarijuanaretailers https://lnkd.in/gE7DtFrS

The Coalition appreciates federal strides toward cannabis policy reform. However, the decision to reschedule rather than fully deschedule represents significant oversights. Nationwide, criminal penalties for cannabis persist, and there is no assurance that banks will support Black & Brown cannabis businesses. Furthermore, crucial aspects such as expungement, immigration, and gun ownership are currently left unaddressed by this measure. We urge the White House to uphold their 2020 campaign pledge and enact full decriminalization by descheduling cannabis. #DescheduleNow

MORE negative cannabis election year propaganda! This story doesn’t even make any sense but I believe it is an attempt to attack citizens who chose to buy from their neighbors instead of buying tainted crap from “legal” dispensaries! I feel this is also a propaganda piece because like most propaganda I have read, it makes no sense! One sentence is about a murder that “LIKELY” may have been black market cannabis oriented, then tries to tie that to dispensaries getting robbed? Legal dispensaries are getting robbed because our fine government insists upon make all legal cannabis transactions are in cash! “Likely” means propaganda in my book! The whole article is speculative in other words! Pulp Fiction! The government is the real cause of the black market! First because of the criminal way in which prohibition was put in place to begin with! There is no credible research backing up scheduling cannabis in the first place! Even MORE suspicious is the fact that research was banned! Smell fishy? That’s because it is! It was a racist endeavor and a successful attempt to curb cannabis use for home remedies by the healthcare industry (government involvement in Free Enterprise is supposed to be a no no)! Second, the government has unfairly regulated cannabis causing businesses to be at risk from robberies and most small businesses not being able to compete because of the ridiculous legislation by each state! The biggest reason there is still a black market is because the greedy, corrupt government is overtaxing both the vendor and the consumer driving up the price for consumers and by that action creating a black market that can still turn a profit! I go to Oregon on this model. It flooded the market with reasonably priced cannabis and the black market pretty much disappeared for purchases within that state! Prices are still so low that black market entrepreneurs cannot turn a profit in that state! Want to see MORE black market activity? See what happens when our crooked politicians put cannabis under Schedule 3! The state of California is run by Big Pharma bucks! If we had decent public servants, this prohibition fiasco would have never transpired and there would be no black market or deaths the government conveniently could pin on #cannabis! #bigpharma #sponsored #propaganda #corrupt #healthcare #system #government #interference #free #enterprise #expose #educate #audit #publicservants #govermentofficials #cause #blackmarkets #not #citizens #votethemallout #hollow #electionyear #promises #from #crooked #politicians #bigpharmaJoe #deschedulepot https://lnkd.in/g7jKbNhn

Today, during debate, I offered several amendments to make our roadways safer, including one that would ALLOW police to pull over drivers they believe are smoking cannabis. Believe it or not, state law actually PREVENTS police from stopping drivers they ACTUALLY SEE smoking weed. It makes NO sense - to me at least. Apparently the Majority Party believes it does though, as they defeated the proposition. Whether you call it cannabis, marijuana, pot, or weed, in my opinion, it does NOT belong on our roads. #CTweCANdoBETTER You can read the amendment here: https://lnkd.in/drMrmexT

New York State has just passed a new amendment to the New York Cannabis Law in an attempt to crack down on the unauthorized and unlicensed cannabis shops that have popped up all across the state since the law was originally passed in 2021. The amendment does away with the need for preliminary citations and allows for stricter fines when an establishment is deemed a danger to the public (i.e. selling to minors, unlicensed processing of cannabis, proximity to schools and/or houses of worship, reports of customers becoming ill due to purchased products, etc.) For more details about the new legislation and what it means for commercial business owners, click here: https://lnkd.in/eAxf_dzv Rosenberg & Estis, P.C. #nycrealestate #nyrealestate #newyorkrealestate #realestateny #nycliving #commercialrealestate #property #investment #condo #coop #buildingmanagement #facilitymanagement #propertymanagement #buildingmaintenance #buildingmanager #buildingservices #cannabislaws #nyclegislation

The STATES 2.0 Act would end federal cannabis prohibition in legal states, allow interstate commerce, and incorporate certain equity provisions such as expungements for people with non-violent cannabis convictions. And now, it has the full support of two major law enforcement organizations—PORAC (Peace Officers Research Association of California) and ORCOPS: Oregon Coalition of Police and Sheriffs. According to Brian Marvel, president of PORAC: “[The STATES 2.0 Act] will enable law enforcement agencies, many of whom are understaffed and underfunded, to focus their limited resources on addressing more serious crimes and illicit substances.” You can encourage your representatives to #DecriminalizeNow and pass the STATES 2.0 Act by sending a letter at lpp.la/420unityletter
