Inside Workers Compensation: Nurse Case Managers Nurse case managers play an important role in helping injured workers get the care they need and return to work as soon as possible. They are skilled at navigating the workers compensation system and advocating for the needs of their patients. A recent study by a large commercial carrier reflected that when nurse case managers are involved with a workers’ compensation claim, costs are reduced by about 25%. The Independent Schools Compensation Corporation (ISCC) utilizes a #claimsmanagement #team that includes a nurse case manager assigned to every claim. The nurse case manager's focus is managing the injured worker's medical treatment, and to restore the injured employee to their pre-injury state of health.
