The U.S. Army has launched a generative AI capability within its cArmy cloud infrastructure, utilizing Ask Sage's platform powered by Microsoft's Azure OpenAI services. This innovative deployment allows Army personnel to securely access AI tools up to Impact Level 5, a classification for highly sensitive military information. The initiative marks a significant step in integrating cutting-edge AI technology into defense operations, with plans to start with 400 user accounts and eventually expand to enterprise-wide usage. Ask Sage's CEO, Nic Chaillan, emphasizes the potential for this technology to transform military applications, with other defense and civilian agencies expected to follow the Army's lead. This move aligns with the Army's broader strategy to harness AI for various operations, from daily activities to tactical missions. It follows a new directive issued by Army Chief Information Officer Leonel Garciga, which outlines guidelines for the development and use of AI models while addressing concerns around data privacy, security, and control. The Army's efforts are part of a larger modernization drive, exemplified by the rollout of cArmy 2.0, a cloud infrastructure upgrade designed to enhance automation, security, and overall functionality, further cementing the Army's position at the forefront of AI adoption in the Department of Defense. #usarmy #generativeai #cloudservices #microsoftazure #asksage #impactlevel5 #defenseinnovation #aiintegration #carmy #militarytech Source- https://lnkd.in/e959d2mM

AI is reshaping the landscape of military operations, and 4C's cutting-edge software Exonaut is at the forefront of this in training and exercise management. Embedding AI into Exonaut is, for instance, revolutionizing the rapid generation of exercise scenarios and performance reports. What sets 4C and Exonaut apart however, is the commitment to security and efficiency, offering a solution that not only saves time and resources but is built on customers' locally hosted AI capability to keep their classified data safe. Something that will also become available through web-services and private cloud deployments. Read more about how 4C is taking military training into the future with Exonaut and #AI. https://lnkd.in/dMDPkhmY If you're at Eurosatory in Paris this week, make sure to visit us at the UK Pavilion in Hall 5B, Stand AB349. #transformingtraining #militarytraining #militaryexercises #training #trainingmanagement #exercise #exercising #military #exonaut #automation #integration #capabilitydevelopment #militarysoftware #defense

Delivering information to the decision-makers who need it -- from the DoD to the battlefield -- reliably, securely, and at the speed of relevance is crucial. Let's talk at TEM. At the upcoming US Army Technical Exchange Meeting (TEM) 12, “The network is the Army’s number one transformation priority.” That means getting information where and when it’s needed, in a simple and intuitive way for users. Kinetic Data’s Digital Experience Platform (DXP) separates the front-end user interface from complex back-end IT infrastructure, integrating with virtually any system or data source in place today—as well as what will be in place tomorrow. It enables process owners to rapidly develop built-for-purpose user-facing applications using a backend-as-a-service (#BaaS) approach while future-proofing the Army’s network of the future. This isn’t our first mission. Over the past decade, we’ve implemented solutions for the US Army JLTV, US Army EITaaS, US Army CHS, Army National Guard, the Defense Information Systems Agency, the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU), and more. Connect with us at the US Army’s TEM 12 event, May 28-30 at the Marriott City Center in Philadelphia, PA. Exciting news! 🚨 Innovation & Modernization will spotlight 29 innovative developers during our ‘Enhanced Situational Awareness’ Solutions Meeting Oct 29-30. 🚨 These developers leverage artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) and other advanced techniques for automating object recognition and change detection within an area of interest, along with solutions that expedite the processing and dissemination of an ever-increasing amount of incoming information. Pretty cool stuff! ✉ Government colleagues, reach out directly if you’d like to attend the ‘Enhanced Situational Awareness’ Solutions Meeting. 🙏 A big thank you to the U.S. Army Pacific (USARPAC), Army ISR Task Force, and the U.S. Marine Corps Warfighting Lab for partnering with us on this event! 🙏 29 innovators, primarily small businesses, will brief their tech to an audience of DoD reps, in a format that promotes discussions with stakeholders about operational challenges and potential collaboration opportunities. Developers were selected from 195 submissions to our publicly released Needs Statement. Tons of fantastic ideas, but ~30 is all we could reasonably fit into two loooong days. ✉ Industry and academia, message me if you'd like to be on our direct mailing list for future I&M events. We want to make it easier to get your tech in front of your DoD market. #DefenseInnovation #DoD #SBIR #AUKUS #CDAO

How can the United States Department of Defense and the US Army accelerate decision making? Simplify the user experience? Bring new life to legacy software systems? Let's connect THIS WEEK at the US Army Technical Exchange Meeting 12.

Managing Director at BCG & Army Veteran, building a business focused on GovTech & FinTech. Follow me for Defense, Government & Finance perspectives on core technology, digital transformation, cloud & IT infrastructure.
This week in Defense Tech: 1️⃣ United States Department of Defense top artificial intelligence official laid out the DoD's vision yesterday for scaling digital data #analytics and #ai across the department to ensure decision advantage for the warfighter. 2️⃣ Defense now outweighs offense, thanks to new tech, per Army Futures Command head Gen. Rainey. The realization may have wide-reaching implications for how the US Army trains and equips its forces. 3️⃣ Pentagon issues new guidance to address industry gripes about ATO process. "We're trying to strike a balance in maintaining our [risk management framework-driven] cybersecurity, but to make sure that we are able to move more quickly and not have to basically check everyone's homework,” CIO John Sherman told DefenseScoop. 4️⃣ Pentagon CIO previews ‘Fulcrum,’ the next digital modernization strategy. “The June time frame is when you'll be seeing some release on that," John Sherman told DefenseScoop. 5️⃣ As DoD concern grows about the increasing ability of adversaries to disrupt GPS satellite signals, experts warn that there is no one-size-fits-all alternative to meet military needs for positioning, navigation and timing (PNT) capabilities. 6️⃣ The US Navy Neptune Cloud Portal is accelerating cloud adoption to lighting speed. The newly updated portal features a streamlined interface to request cloud services, dashboards for IaaS/PaaS/SaaS, and access to broader DoD cloud offerings such as Cloud One, JWCC. 7️⃣ US Army set to issue new policy guidance on use of #LLM. Pentagon officials see generative AI as a tool that could be used across the department, but security concerns need to be addressed. 8️⃣ House panel calls for a DOD quantum computing Center of Excellence. A subcommittee is pushing for the creation of a new military-focused quantum hub. 9️⃣ Despite demand, Defense Information Systems Agency financially constrained to scale cloud capabilities overseas. Part of the strain comes from the large amount of infrastructure and capability that DISA must allocate money towards maintaining. 🔟 US Army moving closer to having global access to secret network. The Army launched the first phase of Global Commercial Solutions for Classified. It is expected to reach initial operational capability by fiscal 2025. 🔗 Links in comments below 👇 #DoD #DHS #defenseinnovation #defense #defensetechnology #technology #tech #nationalsecurity #jadc2 #army #navy #airforce
