Good to know for PhD students and young researchers 👇 THE LÄND offers excellent conditions for multiple scholarships and funding opportunities. From structured PhD programs with funding of up to €1,300 to scholarships for international doctoral students and young scientists to discounts on admission fees or public transport. And if you´re a post-doc, you will also find attractive opportunities, for example at the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation , the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - German Research Foundation or at the Ministry of Science, Research and Arts Baden-Württemberg. The German Academic Exchange Service DAAD Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst offers a searchable database for this purpose. Check this for open positions and if there are scholarshops and fundings 👉 https://bit.ly/49luGmI Furthermore: Universities sometimes offer their own scholarships, so it is definitely worth checking their website. PhD Opportunities at IAMT for 2025 IAMT is always open to good applicants. The greatest PhD scholarship funding is provided by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). In fact DAAD in Australia and thus enabled my career. It is a very nice scheme. Most deadlines are August 2024, but this is country specific. To proceed candidates need to search the database for country specific deadlines, eligibility and requirements (e.g. full transcripts), ensure that all requirements are fulfilled, and contact IAMT with their topic of choice and proposal (see previous post how to apply for a PhD). With all being complete and of the required quality, I will schedule an interview. If working together is mutually agreeable, then I will issue the required host letter. Due to the summer break all of this needs to be completed in July for Aug/Sept this year. To assist applicants I will shortly post information how to write a PhD proposal. The topics are free choice within IAMT interests, a small selection is available on the IAMT website (https://lnkd.in/gBGXPVW) as well as the DAAD portal. Earning a PhD can take up to seven years. Investing time and energy now to thoroughly understand your options is well worth the effort. Here are Accepted consultant Dr. Karin Ash's tips on selecting the right PhD program for your unique goals. 1️⃣ One of the most important aspects of your PhD application is that your research experience should align well with professors in your target department. 2️⃣ Read the department faculty bios. It’s risky to apply to a university that has only one professor of interest to you. 3️⃣ Reach out to professors, provide them with a summary of your research experience, and ask them whether they plan to accept PhD candidates into their research group the year of your enrollment. Their support would positively influence your chances for admission. 4️⃣ Use LinkedIn or undergrad alumni resources to connect with students and recent graduates. Learn about their experiences in the program and whether they would recommend it. 5️⃣ Consider what financial support is provided or available for your tuition and living expenses, your research projects, and for attending conferences to present your research. Schedule a free consultation with Karin today and let her expert guidance help you make the right decision. Don't let uncertainty hold you back from pursuing your dreams - take the first step now! #PhD #HigherEducation #FreeConsultation #PhDGoals #PhDprograms #SelectingPhDprograms #HowtoresearchPhdprograms

PhD candidate in Applied Linguistics at the University of Warwick/ Trinity DipTESOL and Celta Teacher Trainer / EAP tutor / Freelance ELT Materials writer
Hi, everyone. So yesterday I shared a great PhD scholarship from Cambridge University - for those who want to apply for it but have no idea how to start, this post is for you. In 2022, after 3 years of tons of rejected proposals, I finally landed not only 1, but 3 PhD scholarships. Like we say in Brazil, "os humilhados serao exaltados" (the meek shall be lifted up) :D. So immediately after receiving these offers (I was still in Turkey, getting ready to move to the UK), I decided to create a self-paced course to help prospective PhD students maximise their chances of getting a PhD scholarship. I wanted to share with other people my winning strategies. So I created: https://lnkd.in/d_h8ySuS In it, you will find 6 highly practical modules: Module 1- How to find studentships Module 2- Gathering information and documents Module 3 - Choosing the right potential supervisors and contacting them Module 4 - Writing a research proposal Module 5 - Writing a personal statement Module 6 - Preparing for the interview This course is aimed at people who want to pursue PhD scholarships within Social Sciences and Humanities only. If you have any questions, feel free to message/comment here.

Earning a PhD is often misconstrued as a direct measure of intelligence, when in reality, it is a testament to perseverance, dedication, and resilience. The journey to a doctorate involves navigating complex research challenges, enduring long hours of study and experimentation, and overcoming numerous setbacks. This path demands a relentless pursuit of knowledge, the ability to remain focused on a single problem for years, and the determination to see a project through to completion despite obstacles. Therefore, a PhD is less about innate intelligence and more about demonstrating the capacity to persist in the face of adversity and continually strive for academic and professional excellence.
