Some machines really last longer than a lifetime! Christian Makari from GAW technologies GmbH and Daniel Rusnarczyk from GAW Paper Coating Systems had the opportunity to visit our customer Sonoco in Menasha, WI and took a look at the impressive PM1. The basic body and structure of the “old lady” roots back to its construction in 1908. Paper machines generally have a quite long life-span, but this one is particularly impressive. The PM1 produces 9-layerd core board and GAW Paper Coating Systems delivered a starch preparation plant some years ago.   It does not matter if a paper machine has over 100 years of production on its back (or its cylinders 😉): GAW is experienced in best preparation systems for greenfield, brownfield and even “old-timer” machines – like this long-serving gentle giant. ProJet b.v. receives order for Power Cleaners from UK based Fiber Glass Mat Manufacturer ProJet b.v. received an order for Power Cleaners for Wire Belts for a Glass Veil Manufacturer, based in the United Kingdom. The Saturator & Oven Wire Belts tend to build up fairly quickly with contamination, which is acrylic binder and fibers, during normal production. This contamination needs to be cleaned very efficiently to be able to maintain normal operation. ProJet b.v. has many references in the Glass Mat Manufacturing Industry already. ProJet b.v. was selected as preferred supplier because ProJet b.v.’s Power Cleaner has the unique feature of rotating nozzles. The number of nozzles, pressure and size of the nozzles, in combination with the rotation guarantees the most effective cleaning result. This leads to optimum drying performance of the belts throughout the lifetime of the belts. The equipment is to be delivered in December 2024, start-up is scheduled later in 2025. Caulking of all exterior joints in brick, concrete, precast, or metals is normally performed with silicone sealant. LYMTAL, INC. has provided the best alternate to silicones that has many of the same high quality silicone advantages PLUS the Lymtal #825 polyether sealant is made in popular 20 ounce plastic "sausages" for fast, one component installation. 1.) Great to install in temperatures as low as 10 degrees, 2.) no mixing, saves labor and eliminates any pot life concerns common with 2-part products, 3.) Primer is not needed. Sticks to all properly prepared surfaces, 4.) Fast cure at 1-2 hours even in sub-freezing weather, 5.) Excellent flexibility at +100%/-50% that far exceeds urethane sealants having +/-35% movement (NP-1 or Sika 1-A), 6.) Can be painted over in very successfully in applications such as precast concrete where the paint's adhesion to the sealant joints is critical, 7.) #825 can be installed in all types of vertical, roofing, and perimeter joints 8.) Available in 2-gallon pails, however, rapid curing of the product requires equally fast installation to avoid skinning in the pails. Probably why caulkers prefer the 20-ounce sausages.
