Today we recognize national forklift safety day. National Forklift Safety Day emphasizes the crucial need for operator training and daily equipment checks! Be aware of the environment or pedestrian traffic in the area, check the brakes, check the seatbelts, check the lights, check the horns, check the overhead guards, and carry out a general visual check of the vehicle to ensure everything looks good. After completing the visual check, check the forklift's components for smooth functioning. Always adhere to the forklift's Safe Working Load (SWL) and ensure only trained and certified operators are in control. Regular training updates are essential to stay informed about new safety protocols and equipment. Before use, check the forklift for visible damage or leaks, confirm all controls, lights, and warning devices are operational, and ensure tires are properly inflated and in good condition. Maintain a clear work environment, watch for obstacles, and be mindful of floor conditions like wet or slippery surfaces. Stay alert for pedestrians and other vehicles. Never exceed the forklift's load capacity. Ensure loads are stable, balanced, and secure. Keep loads low and tilted back while moving. Always wear a seatbelt if available, drive safely, and avoid sudden stops or sharp turns. When parking, lower the forks, turn off the engine, remove the key, and engage the parking brake to prevent movement. Follow the emergency response plan in case of an incident. #ForkliftSafety #SWL #CertifiedOperators #WorkplaceSafety #LoadCapacity #SafetyFirst #EquipmentInspection #StayAlert #EmergencyPreparedness

"Dedicated Safety Officer | Ensuring Workplace Safety | Risk Management Expert | Promoting Health & Safety Compliance"
Operating a forklift is a critical responsibility that goes beyond holding a valid driving license. To ensure workplace safety and efficiency, only authorized and trained individuals should be behind the controls. Here's why: Specialized Training: Forklifts are complex machines that require specific training to handle various loads, navigate different terrains, and operate safely in tight spaces. Hazard Awareness: Trained operators are well-versed in identifying and mitigating potential hazards, reducing the risk of accidents and injuries. Compliance with Regulations: Ensuring that only authorized personnel operate forklifts helps maintain compliance with workplace safety regulations and standards. Equipment Longevity: Properly trained operators know how to handle the equipment correctly, extending the life of the forklift and reducing maintenance costs. Workplace Efficiency: Skilled operators can perform tasks more efficiently, contributing to overall productivity and smooth operations. Remember, safety is a shared responsibility. Let's ensure that forklifts are operated by those who are properly trained and authorized. 🚧👷♂️👷♀️ #ForkliftSafety #WorkplaceSafety #TrainedOperators #AuthorizedPersonnel #SafetyFirst

It's crucial to always keep in mind that the safe working load (SWL) limit of a forklift should never be exceeded. This limit takes into account important factors such as the forklift's capacity, the load center, and the mast tilt angle. Adhering to these limits is essential for safe operation and accident prevention. "Stay Safe"

This fatal incident reminds us how crucial of developing proper planning before lifting and shifting material by mechanical equipment such as forklift. Here there were some causes behind this incident. 1:- Safe working load of forklift not checked(swl). 2:- Load was not below as it should have while shifting. 3:- Incompetent operator. 4:- unavailability of flagman. 5:- vehicle path was uneven. 6 :- untrained victims. 7 :- slippery surface. 8 :- Lack of training and supervision. 9:- imposed load beyond swl.
