We have 2 new resources about integration! Integrating Oral Health Care and Primary Care Learning Collaborative: A State and Local Partnership Final Report https://lnkd.in/emieMqsA This report describes programmatic efforts to integrate oral health care and prenatal care with both a state and a local component. Project teams consisted of members from state oral health programs and local community health centers. The project was implemented from 2022 through 2024. The report discusses project team selection, the state-level approach, the local-level approach, use of stipend funds and in-kind support, and integration of interprofessional oral health core clinical competencies into prenatal care at the participating clinic site. The needs of older adults with complex health and social care needs are not optimally met within the community. Proud of the team for publishing results from an implementation of an Integrated Primary care using the principles of Patient-centeredness (PCMH) for complex care. Patient-centered care was able to enhance the overall healthcare experience for older adults while decreasing the frequency of medical services required. It underscores the potential in improving care while reducing the burden on healthcare resources. With rapid population ageing in Singapore, there would be increasing number of older adults with complex health and social care needs and the corresponding response to change paradigms and innovate, evaluate, scale and sustain health and social care integration models in the community. Development of digital health technologies (DHT) in pediatrics: * 116 pediatric digital health grant projects or subprojects were funded by NIH in fiscal year (FY) 2018, totaling $65.12 million = 20% vs adults (looks also 20% in 2023) * most was focused on mental/behavioral health, diabetes, asthma * most focused on adolescent (adolescent is almost an adult- does this count?:)) - minimum on infants * challenges: #1-3 is lack of funding; developmental differences (size, ability to communicate, pathophysiology, movement interference), false positives Why is the DHT development critical? * kids cannot verbalize as well as adults when they do not feel well resulting in delay in diagnosis, poor monitoring/management of chronic conditions * an example of how suboptimal is observational reporting is seizures where almost 40% is underrecognized in adults (probably more in kids); other examples would be pain, etc. https://lnkd.in/gGDQ5fBy and https://lnkd.in/gq8934dN; https://lnkd.in/gmx4rm2F

Ever had a preemie? Are you a father to a baby or child that was born prematurely? How involved were you when the baby was still in hospital? Were there any hindrances? Was it easy for you to be involved? What could you have desired? Our recent paper, led by Patani George Mhango , Master of Science in Global Health Implementation, Kamuzu University of Health Sciences , sheds more light on the subject. it highlights the structural, cultural and condition-of-the-baby impediments to the whole process. A new #CalltoAction, launched on #UHCday by MOMENTUM Safe Surgery and many implementing partners, highlights five priority actions to support postpartum and post-abortion #FamilyPlanning (PPFP and PAFP) scale up in #UHC: 1️⃣    Integrate PPFP and PAFP across the six WHO health system building blocks, with an emphasis on stewardship, governance, and leadership to enable adequate health financing and workforce. 2️⃣    Engage communities to address stigma, bias, social and gender norms, and understand client motivation and needs for accessing PPFP/PAFP services, including via digital tools. 3️⃣    Engage and strengthen the private sector, expand what the private sector can provide, and assure quality. 4️⃣    Strengthen health information system coverage indicators for counseling and measurement of voluntary PPFP/PAFP uptake for more reliable data. 5️⃣    Reallocate financial resources for equitable access.
