Through this order, members of the REINSW whose businesses were situated within the Australian Capital Territory were โ€œaccorded the status and responsibility as members of a division to be known as โ€˜The Real Estate Institute of the Australian Capital Territoryโ€™โ€. According to a 2017 article of the REINSWโ€™s Real Estate Journal, this order came in โ€œresponse to requests from Canberra agents wanting to establish their own representative body independent of REINSWโ€.
