Rabobank Project Finance is proud to have supported H2 Green Steel in raising €4.2 billion in debt financing for the world’s first large-scale #greensteel plant in Northern Sweden. H2 Green Steel’s flagship green steel plant in Boden will produce steel with up to 95% lower CO₂ emissions than steel made with coke-fired blast furnaces. Much of the reduction will be achieved by using #greenhydrogen instead of coal.    Financing H2 Green Steel’s pioneering sustainable business model demonstrates Rabobank’s commitment towards the #energytransition. Producing their own hydrogen with c. 800MW of #electrolysers is a prime example of how to achieve large scale #industrialdecarbonisation. Rabobank is ready to further support the growth of the #hydrogeneconomy.   Rabobank acted as Lead Arranger and Hedging Bank within a group of over 20 commercial banks. Harvestone Low Carbon Partners (HLCP) has successfully raised $205 million from Bank of America for its Blue Flint Ethanol LLC related #carboncapture project. The first-of-its kind tax equity financing was successful primarily because HLCP controlled the entire North Dakota #CCS value chain: capture, transport and sequestration. The project is on target to capture and store over 200,000 tonnes of #CO2 annually.
