🔥 A few months ago, our COO and Co-Founder, Drake H., sat down with a panel of industry leaders at #ISRI2024 to discuss the impact of AI in the recycled materials industry. Missed the presentation IRL? We've got you covered. ✔️ Check out the fascinating conversation between Drake, Sid G., Josh Singer, and Dennis Xu, and let us know - how do you see AI shaping the industry in the future? 🤔 #AI #ArtificialIntelligence #recycling #scrapyard #software

AI and waste have more in common then you think. When you want to recycle your waste, have steady outputs of high purity materials, you need to do your quality checking(QC) with AI for a purity bigger than 99% in your recyclables. The more purity you get, the easier it is to recycle, the more money you make. Pretty straight forward! Currently AI is been implemented in waste sorting at industrial level. Some companies are also working to take the data collected by the AI to be able to create algorithms that will regulate the waste flow based on the incoming waste stream and the output. AI mimicks the human experience and builds on it. The same goes when we talk about AI in the waste management industry. Because of these new technologies, it is easier to build these new state of the are facilities, "WASTE REFINERIES" as i call them and you can use your MSW and your single streams in one place. We are now in the industrial position in time where we can really turn WASTE INTO RESOURCE. See bellow an example from Bulk Handling Systems and their MAX AI VIS system, one of the pioneers of AI inclusion in waste management. Congratulations to Steve Miller and his team for the work they have done! https://lnkd.in/dH_7HxaM

#recycling #plasticsorting #meyersorter What can Meyer do for the resource recycling industry? Meyer has the industry's most advanced sorting technology, enabling sorting from whole bottles to bottle flakes, pellets, etc. Equipped with AI deep learning innovation, the efficiency and sorting speed are outstanding. It is mighty in identifying hard-to-classify objects, leading to significantly higher purity results. Choose Meyer to realize sorting whatever you want! #recycling #plasticsorting #meyersorter

Each type of plastic is a world of its own 🙌 To recycle this material correctly, we must consider various factors: from specific processing properties to the final use of the product. At PICVISA, we use cutting-edge sorting technologies based on artificial intelligence and computer vision. This allows us to achieve optimal and efficient results at every stage of the process 🎯♻️ Want to know how we do it? Learn more here! https://lnkd.in/dFWK-VDS #DiscoverPICVISA #AI #VA

AI will change the world. Here is one way it could change it for the better. While it is still best to reduce resource use, and plan for cradle to cradle material cycles, there will always be waste and here’s hoping that AI powered machines can turn that waste stream into usable materials for the future.

“Let’s work this out step-by-step.” Have you wondered why so many people are adding this part when interacting with a LLM? Since last year, this has become pretty much a popular way of prompting, after showing its clear effects in terms of accuracy and efficiency. But do you know why? This approach isn't just about getting straight answers from the machine. Instead, it encourages LLMs to walk us through their thought process (here’s the popular “step-by-step”), before landing on a solution. The difference? Instead of an AI spitting out answers with no context, we get to see the how and why behind its conclusions. Here are a couple of examples: —> You are planning a road trip from City A to City B, which is 300 miles apart. If you drive at an average speed of 60 miles per hour, stopping for a total of 1 hour for breaks, calculate the total travel time. Please provide a step-by-step explanation of your process. —> You're an environmental scientist analyzing the impact of reducing plastic use in a small town. The town consumes 1 million plastic bottles a year, which they plan to reduce by 20% by promoting reusable bottles. Walk me through the environmental benefits of this reduction. Especially when dealing with more complex tasks, the Chain-of-Thought prompting technique is a great alley to dig deeper into the process! #GenerativeAI #BasicsOfPrompting #ChainOfThought

IDEA - Unsubscribe, but for United States Postal Service paper mail. I have been using #USPS's Informed Delivery tool for several years. It sends you an e-mail with scans of the mail that is coming to your door that day. You could use #GenerativeAI (with training turned off) to recognize the mail images you are receiving and tie it to a database of how to send a request to unsubscribe from the mailing list for that piece of mail. You could click unsubscribe for a piece of mail and have a request automatically sent to the place mailing you the items. This could help reduce unwanted mail that is quickly being put into a recycling bin. #GenerativeAI #Unsubscribe #USPostalService #ClimateChange
