Out this week... Water and/in religious relations: A Cambridge study This 42-page report, written by CIP researcher Dr Anastasia Badder, is the result of four months’ fieldwork in and around Cambridge. The investigation was prompted by Cambridge Water working with other industry stakeholders and ecologically-minded organisations (a collaboration supported by the Ofwat Innovation Fund). The report recommends that industry actors listen, learn, avoid generalising and be reflexive, that wider stakeholders collaborate because water is everyone’s concern, and that researchers and educators continue to contribute to work at the intersection of climate change and values, including through targeted education initiatives. On May 7th, 2024, we held an insightful session with the RegionsAdapt Community of Practice (Regions4) and #MAIAProject partners to discuss enhancing #ClimateResilience at regional level. The session focused on strengthening policy-science exchanges to develop robust adaptation strategies. The group used the draft third Scottish National Adaptation Plan (2024-2029) as a practical example. Key insights included: ✅ Adaptation planning, economic development, and innovative financing are all interconnected. ✅The importance of public participation and diverse perspectives in adaptation planning. ✅The crucial role of collaboration among governments, private sectors, and civil society.
