This was a lot of work by the team, to say we were put through the wringer would be an understatement.
The key point here of course is the cost saving potential of the CoilDriver technology.
Coil switching as a concept is not new, its effects have been well studied over decades. There are a multitude of ways of doing it and in general they all functionally work.
From the beginning the challenge was not does coil switching work and do what is claimed, it does, to suggest otherwise is arguing against Maxwell's equations. The real challenge has always been can this be done cost effectively.
So, anyone can coil switch, but only the CoilDriver can do it and reduce system cost at the same time.
Finally have to give big thanks to Ansys for the continued support, without their industry standard and, importantly, accepted simulation tools, this would have been a much heavier lift.
After more than a year of behind-the-scenes work, we're thrilled to reveal our collaboration with Stellantis in the passenger vehicle segment! 🚀
We're also honored to be one of the three finalists in the Innovation category for Stellantis annual Supplier of the Year Award and one of only two early-stage companies nominated across all categories. This prestigious award honors suppliers that have created features with the potential to become brand identifiers or market changers, and our Coil Driver™ technology has shown it can be just that by successfully progressing through multiple technical, performance, and cost study milestones!
This marks a significant validation for our technology with our first major passenger vehicle partner. We can't wait to share more exciting developments ahead ⚡ 🚗

🌟 Inspiring Conversations on Circular Economy & Future Mobility 🌟
Yesterday, I had the incredible opportunity to attend a meeting with Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares, the head of Lancia Luca Napolitano, the head of Alfa Romeo Jean-Philippe Imparato, and the chief of Alfa Romeo strategic projects Cristiano Fiorio at the Circular Economy Hub in Mirafiori. The focus of the discussions was on the future of mobility and how the circular economy will shape a more sustainable automotive industry.
As a proud winner of the Stellantis Student Awards, it was inspiring to engage with industry leaders on how they are driving innovation, reducing environmental impact, and preparing for the mobility solutions of tomorrow. 🚗🔄🌍
Looking forward to seeing how Stellantis continues to drive innovation and lead the way in shaping the future of transportation! 🚗💡

In 2023, Renault Group made a significant breakthrough in its transformation into a next-generation automotive company.
Throughout the past year, the collective excellence of our brands and entities – Renault, Dacia, Alpine, Mobilize, Ampere, THE FUTURE IS NEUTRAL and HORSE – have paved the way for a future dedicated to innovation, sustainability, and inclusivity.
Together, we achieved one of the fastest turnarounds in recent automotive history, with record results, the launch of Ampere - our new EV & Software pure player, our best future line-up in decades, and a strong new start to the Alliance.
In 2024, the heart of Renault Group will resonate in unison.
Ready to set the beat ?
Happy New Year!
This year General Meeting of Shareholders was the occasion to reflect on the significant milestones achieved during 1000 days of Renaulution. Amidst industry upheavals and global challenges, Renault Group has rebounded with resilience, from significant losses to a historical margin.
The #Renaulution was fueled by strategic collaborations aimed at driving innovation and market expansion. Over 20 partnerships were established in the last four years, including with industry leaders like Google and Qualcomm, LGES and LGe, CATL and Envision, and also GEELY and Dongfeng. We also reorganized and reloaded our Alliance with Nissan Motor Corporation and Mitsubishi Motors Corporation.
Over the past 1000 days, we launched 22 new models, revitalizing our product lineup and capturing market share across Europe. Notably, our focus on #electrification has resulted in over 50% of our vehicles being pure EVs, aligning with our vision for a sustainable future.
However, our journey is far from over. With a steadfast commitment to innovation, sustainability, and building a next-gen automotive company, Renault Group is poised to lead the industry into a new era of excellence.
This is what Luca de Meo's #LettertoEurope is all about: the necessity of collective action and partnerships between the public and private sectors, for a sustainable, inclusive, and competitive automotive industry in Europe and beyond.

The Stellantis vs. Renault Group innuendo bout continues in a healthy but competitive spirit heading into round three.
This (see film below) was a decent response from Fiat, lined with a great sense of humour, listing its "global" achievements. However with Renault winning the European Car Of The Year award yesterday and the brand with the diamond claiming all the headlines in Geneva, thanks particularly to so many "no-shows" and its 30-minute marathon Renault 5 presentation fully in the spotlights, round two goes to Renault.
However, there is no sign of a knock-out blow yet.
Expect the next half decade of product launches to include a wealth of retrospective heritage references topping up rich brand heritages, something Chinese brands don't necessarily have (assuming they are not purchased-in) making BMW Group's #MINI-brand look like a fresh off-the-paper design.
Renault appears to be going for a rich mix of products investing relatively heavily in product development (multi-link suspension on #r5 and a BEV-dedicated platform) and perhaps more confident on pricing ticking more boxes where higher prices can potentially be commanded and defining the differentiation to Dacia more clearly, while Stellantis appear to be leveraging their scale using a multi-drivetrain platform and being more aggressive on pricing and in-turn margins if all goes to plan.
The dangers: de Meo is overestimating customer willingness to pay more for an "over-engineered" product perhaps gained from his Winterkorn days at Volkswagen Group.
Stellantis possibly underestimates Northern European appetite for BEV-dedicated models, in regions that are willing to pay more.
Renault vs. Stellantis may be fun but there are others that will likely use the opportunity to sneak into the market while these two are distracted with each other.
The future incumbent strategy appears to be about looking backwards and injecting some of the rich brand and product history locked away in their museum collection vaults to counter highly progressive modern products coming to market, lacking however that key ingredient: heritage.
If you're looking for the CEO, you'll find them in the museum!!
"Get up, smile, and march on." 🙂
That’s the credo of Iryna Kauk, CEO of Porsche Central and Eastern Europe and therefore responsible for 28 markets. I spoke to her for our first episode of ‘Women who move Porsche’ and found it incredibly inspiring! ✨
Among other things, Iryna talks about how she prepares for international business trips in order to better understand and be respectful of the local culture and people. 🌍
But she also talks about her experiences of being ignored as a woman in her career before she joined Porsche. And how did she deal with this issue? Exactly: "Stand up, smile, and march on."
Thank you, Iryna, for this enriching and inspiring conversation. It's wonderful to have women like you on the team at Porsche AG! 🙏
Feel free to mention the women who inspire you in the comments!

How do you respond to change?
"Adapting" was the word that keeps on being said by Renault Group CSO during the Panel Discussion at GEC 24 London.
His response on how Renault Group, a French multinational automotive manufacturer, plays in the EV race? Acknowledging that "it is a new sport".
Few key pointers:
•smart capital allocation
•horizontal cooperation
•attitude of being humble
He recognized that the group can't do everything, so they find credible and technically competent partners who share the same purpose, who are co-responsible in the journey to decarbonize, sharing both benefits and risks - a strategic partnership approach.
Grateful that I could watch this insightful conversation through Linkedin LIVE.
What's your thought on strategic partnership approach?

What a journey the last 1000 days have been! From experiencing historical loss in 2020, we’ve achieved a record operating margin of 7.9% and generated €3bn of free cash flow in 2023!
Today I wanted to express my gratitude to the people of Renault Group for making the #Renaulution a reality. You can all be proud of yourselves! I would also like to thank Renault Group’s board of directors for their support and our shareholders who renewed their trust in me for a second mandate.
When I started the Renaulution 4 years ago, the company was at its lowest point. We started our Resurrection phase by undertaking structural work on performance, while the Renovation was about putting the product at the center of the company. We also announced that we would turn Renault Group into a next-gen automotive company, focused on a team of teams, for 5 specific sports: #EV, #software, #circulareconomy, #mobility services, and #ICE.
Since then, we’ve set Renault Group back where it deserves: at the forefront of innovation. In only one year, we have carved out HORSE and launched Ampere. We've also prepared the best range in 30 years, with 10 launches this year alone, and set up more than 20 partnerships.
But don't count on us to stop here! With our program "Speed of Lightness", we aim to accelerate on a dozen key processes in our company. Thanks to this program, our new Twingo will be developed in 2 years instead of 3 or 4!
I can’t wait to write the next chapter with our bold and passionate teams.
Now, on to the next challenge!
