A lot is at stake in our approach to the world’s Ocean which is home to 80% of the world’s biodiversity. The Ocean produces at least 50% of the oxygen on the planet and roughly 30% of the world’s population gets its daily protein from the Ocean. Earlier this year Monaco launched its ReOcean Fund, and it has created interest from both Ultra High Net Worth Individuals and SWFs. On the occasion of #TimeToChange2024 and ChangeNOW, we had the opportunity to discuss with our preferred stakeholders our new approach to investing in how to safeguard planetary boundaries, which will take shape in the coming weeks via the launch of a fund dedicated to this issue. 🌍 Defined by the Stockholm Resilience Center, the planetary boundaries represent nine processes vital to the resilience of the Earth’s system and its capacity to support life. Alarmingly, six of these boundaries have already been overstepped. 🌿 This framework is essential as it offers a systemic and science-based approach to rethinking human and business activities towards the respect of Earth's ecosystem balance, by addressing major environmental issues such as biodiversity loss, water scarcity, pollution and climate change. 🚀 The new Eurazeo fund dedicated to planetary boundaries will focus on fostering the adoption of regenerative and circular economy models, while accelerating solutions for environmental transition and adaptation. By doing so, our ambition will be not only to drive measurable impact but also to deliver strong financial returns.
