𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 of all, Shell Eco-marathon belongs to my heart-centered projects! This community of inspired young people is passionate about creating the most energy-efficient vehicles using finest technology. Then they compete against each other on the race track, creating a lot of excitement and fun! 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱, I am increasingly somewhat ambivalent about the subject of #AI. Too much hype, missing facts, vague use cases, not concrete enough! 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱: In the specific application of 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮-𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 in Shell Eco-marathon, we use the “building blocks” of AI – 𝗻𝗲𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗻𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀 – for good reason. We map tricky 𝗺𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶-𝗼𝗯𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗽𝗵𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗵 and use a graph transformer to solve these problems quickly and elegantly. – Very practical! And otherwise a tough nut to crack using traditional methods. And thanks to this understanding, we get an 𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗜 in general and can put this topic into context. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆: Imagine an interdisciplinary racing team in Shell Eco-marathon: 𝗣𝗵𝗼𝗲𝗻𝗶𝘅. It is in intense competition with other racing teams and faces complex challenges when it comes to the energy and time efficiency of its electric vehicle. At a 𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁 of this race format, team Phoenix embarks on a journey and discovers new ways to increase efficiency: …We meet the team in its familiar world, preparing for the race …Suddenly, a tough crisis turns out to become a breeding ground for the new …Phoenix pivots from the physical to a virtual league… …and learns about data, driving patterns and meaning. …Digitally transformed, Phoenix returns back into the data of reality… …and combines traditional physics with modern data science! …And so gains new knowledge and becomes competitive.
