SET for Health: An Innovative Program for People Living with Schizophrenia Did you know that people living with #schizophrenia often take 15–30 years to find the right combination of supports and self-management strategies to achieve a quality life? They face stigma, marginalization, and healthcare systems focused primarily on symptoms—challenges that can undermine their resilience and ability to manage their condition. Dr. Susan Strong is an associate clinical professor in the McMaster University School of Rehabilitation Science and research affiliate at St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton. To address the challenges faced by people living with schizophrenia, Dr. Strong and a team of clinician researchers have developed the Self-management Engagement Together (SET) for Health Approach. This innovative program has demonstrated significant benefits for participants, empowering them to live healthier, fuller lives while also reducing the burden on the healthcare system. Learn more about SET for Health, including the efforts to educate further clinicians to use self-management support strategies, in our latest annual report: https://bit.ly/4fBk7PH
