Caroline Hands, General Manager of Human Resources, Copper for Rio Tinto, recently participated in an employer panel at the second annual mining conference of the United Steelworkers of America in Minneapolis.   During her remarks, Caroline emphasized the importance of copper being designated as a critical mineral by the United States Geological Survey (USGS). She advocated for streamlining the permitting process in the US. She highlighted that the US has the second longest mine development timeline globally, with an average of 29 years, second only to Zambia.   At Resolution Copper, we value our neutrality agreement with the Steelworkers and are committed to fostering partnership and collaboration to advance critical minerals projects vital to the renewable energy transition.
