CRM marketing positions are frequently encountered in the Russian job market. After conducting an analysis, I've come to several conclusions: - Not all companies truly need such a specialist. - Many companies do not understand the essence of this role and what it entails. - Typically, businesses seek a CRM marketer to create marketing mailouts through various communication channels. Why this approach might be mistaken: If communication channels with clients are poorly established, the sales department is ineffective, and the CRM system is used merely for show, you might not need a CRM marketer but rather a Head of CRM or a Product Owner of the Communication Company. Such a specialist should develop the company's communication strategy, build a Customer Journey Map (CJM), identify weaknesses, and optimize interaction with the client at every stage. For example, when a client first contacts the company, they go through the first line of service (client service, presales), then, after lead qualification, move to the sales department, and finally, to client service or support. Often, these stages lack sufficient coordination and consistency in the communication tools used, leading to decreased client service effectiveness. Position hierarchy: The Head of CRM works closely with the CMO, the sales director, IT department and possibly the Product Owner. Under their direct supervision are: - Client service or the first line of sales (with its department head). - Sales departments (here, direct coordination with the sales director or commercial director). - A communication marketing manager, responsible for developing communication strategies. - Support (with its department head). - Support and technical specialists ensuring the correct functioning of APIs, webhooks, and other technical integrations. Ideally, there should also be a content manager who, following the company's overall methodology, will create content based on the communication manager's specifications. Only after establishing an effective communication strategy and ensuring all services are functioning properly can the search for a CRM marketer, or as they might also be called, a marketing communication manager, begin. Often, such an employee will not work directly with the CRM system but will use CDP/DMP platforms for effective marketing communications with clients.
