Did you know it takes one tree to make roughly 3000 standard cards? That means if every person in Australia sends and receives a card this year, that’s almost 17,500 trees! Switching to digital greeting cards means saving trees, reducing carbon footprints, and minimising waste. This eco-friendly alternative eliminates the need for paper production, transportation, and eventual disposal. Additionally, many e-card providers collaborate with charities and wildlife funds, offering a unique opportunity to raise money for important causes while spreading joy with your Christmas message. E-cards not only provide an instant, customisable, and inclusive way to share your warm wishes but also allow you to contribute to meaningful charitable efforts, making your celebrations more efficient, more generous, and more sustainable. Check out these e-card providers and make a simple switch with a significant positive impact on our environment. https://lnkd.in/dQbXTvyH www.charityecards.com.au/ www.greenvelope.com/

We get it... there's a lot to take in when it comes to learning about the Sustainable Development Goals. So how does one actually support their completion and help promote this much needed wellbeing for both people and planet in the name of #peace? Well, specifically for #sdg14 you can... 1) Find a Goal 14 charity you want to support. Any donation, big or small, can make a difference and oftentimes these charities need hands-on volunteering as well! 2) Buy local and certified fish. You can support small-scale producers by shopping in local markets and shops; this not only helps the local environment but also local economy! 3) Organize a cleanup project for rivers and oceans. Engage your community to clean up a local river, seaside, or an ocean like our amazing friends do at UOCEAN® 2050

Steps we can take to help restore our planet and wellbeing It’s not always easy being 'green', it can be more costly, sometimes it can limit choices (though for me less choice is not always a bad thing), but the changes you make do feel good and do good. There are big things and little things we can all do: - from where we shop - what we buy - who we invest with - who we support - what we use our voice for - how we reuse, repurpose or mend things - and how we inspire others… No matter the size, all actions count and add up to help restore our beautiful planet. You can support environmental charities through the sales of your service or products. For instance, I'm supporting the Bumblebee Conservation Trust through the sale of an exclusive illustrated Kit the dog tote bag - fetch yours today ready for all your adventures: https://lnkd.in/e3Eh7t-r All sale donations are pledged and made to th amazing charity via Work for Good #SaveOurPlanet #ClimateCrisis #EcoConscious #RestoreNature

Can you help us Seed the Change this April? For the first year ever, we are taking part in the Big Give, Green Match Fund. The campaign is live for one week only, between 18th-25th April 2024, and at midday next Thursday we will launch our Seed the Change campaign. Our target is £20,000 and we only have ONE WEEK to do it! Can you help us spread the word? £2,500 will help us install an advanced mooring system, helping to protect valuable seagrass meadows from damage. £1,000 helps us install a marker buoy to help water users identify sensitive habitats and steer clear. £1,600 helps us take carbon core samples to understand the effectiveness of sequestered carbon. £400 helps us take eDNA samples to understand the incredible biodiversity of our meadows. £300 helps us engage a community, sharing our love of seagrass and helping more water users understand why it needs our respect and protection. £5 covers the price of a natural fibre mat that we use to place our seagrass seedlings onto the seabed. Be an Ocean Hero this April: Be the change with Seed The Change. http://bit.ly/BigGiveOCT

I rescue healthy food from growers, manufactures and shippers to give to people who would otherwise go to bed hungry. I also run Zilch, a new program, the vision is to feed more and waste less.
Second Harvest Inland Northwest has been living sustainably for over 50 years. A core part of our work, getting food to people facing hunger is the rescue of food that may otherwise go to waste. Today we have a program called Grocery Rescue that matches neighborhood foodbanks with grocery stores, we rescued 12.5 million pounds of food in 2023. We also work with many food producers to get donations. Our total food distribution in 2023 was over 35 million pounds and most of that was rescued and donated. As we enter 2024 our sustainability efforts and commitment to feeding people facing hunger continues. In fact, we are leaning in even more aggressively to get the most out of our operations with Zilch – an effort to waste less and feed more. Since the beginning of the year, we have added 19 new organizations that we are helping. There are lots of ways for the business community to be a part of this effort through sponsorship and volunteering. #sustainability #Zilch #helpingeachother

Is it too early to start the countdown? Not for JustHelping! With Christmas just under 100 days away 😮 , we're already gearing up for our 2025 tree collections! As you plan where to get your real tree this year, don’t forget about how you'll recycle it afterward! ♻️ We partner with over 100 amazing charities across the UK to make Christmas tree recycling easy and impactful. Dedicated volunteers collect your trees, turning them into vital funds for local charities and inspiring communities to come together. Not only that, but the trees are chipped down and recycled and used in purposeful ways in your local area: in local parks, habitats, zoos, gardens, biochar, coastal erosion prevention and much more! We can't wait to see what this year's collections will bring - it’s shaping up to be an incredible season! 💚 If you want to learn more about what we do drop a comment below 👇 #treerecycling #CSR #Sustainability

Today on #WorldRiversDay , let's come together to protect the lifeblood of our planet—our rivers. 🌊 As a proud member of #MilwaukeeRiverkeeper ’s community, you play a vital role in protecting our waterways, from the #MilwaukeeRiverBasin to #LakeMichigan. Healthy, clean waterways are essential to all life—they sustain our ecosystems, provide recreation, and support our communities. #EarthGivesDay was created to address a critical gap: less than 2% of all charitable donations currently go to #environmental and #climate causes. This isn’t enough to drive the impactful change our planet desperately needs. By starting your own fundraiser, you’ll directly support our mission to restore and safeguard these precious resources for generations to come. Make a difference for our rivers today >> https://buff.ly/3ZhQihI Earth Gives

It's #zerowasteweek. 💚 💛 🌻 The message is loud and clear – we must use our planet's resources better. Sharing unused items with others is quick, easy, and far better than binning or recycling them. With 166,000 charities in the UK, your business can make a real difference by donating forgotten items gathering dust. It's an easy way to start your zero waste journey. There are two ways to get involved this Zero Waste Week via A Good Thing: 🌍 Have a look around the office, see what you have gathering dust in the cupboards, hidden on a shelf, or tucked in a drawer and list it on A Good Thing. 🌍 Check out our list of #charityneeds: https://bit.ly/AGT-Need. Are you holding on to something that a local charity could use? #sendlesstolandfill #supportlocal #reducewaste #getstarted

In a time where communities worldwide are grappling with economic challenges, natural disasters, and other emergencies, the role of businesses in supporting societal causes is paramount. AGS Global Solutions Netherlands (AGS), a leading company renowned for its commitment to social responsibility, has recently showcased its dedication to aiding the local community by collaboratively organizing a project with the Food Bank. The "Voedselbank" has provided several crates where AGS employees can contribute five essential products over a few weeks. These products include long-lasting milk, detergent, sunflower oil, canned ham, and honey. AGS's donation to the Voedselbank serves as a compelling reminder of the positive influence that businesses can exert on communities. It also underscores that each of us has a role to play in supporting the most vulnerable in our society. Whether through financial contributions, food donations, or volunteer work, there are myriad ways in which individuals and businesses can extend assistance. Together, we can make a significant impact and contribute to the battle against hunger and food insecurity. ❤️📦 #donation #relocation #relocationservices #globalmobility #storage
