Now this a rescue with zero margin for error in a hostile environment. These guys train so when it goes pear shaped they are on it elite military units and rescue teams do the same. So I always ask teams I train or work with is yuur rescue plan adequate? How often do you practice these skills or is it just a lip service or ticking a box remember in the heat of moment things will change and you must adapt. So here’s the question are your rescue plans robust and trained regulary ?

🚀 Exploring the Importance of Military Wetsuits 🌊 In the realm of military operations and underwater activities, having the right gear is not just an option—it’s essential for mission success. One critical piece of equipment often sidelined is the military wetsuit, also known as the army wetsuit. These specialized wetsuits are designed to protect our brave servicemen and women during perilous operations such as scuba diving, underwater working, and other vital tasks that demand both flexibility and resilience in challenging aquatic environments. 🌟 While a wetsuit allows for greater mobility and comfort, there are instances where conditions require an alternative: enter the drysuit. When facing the cold extremes of underwater missions, a drysuit offers superior insulation, ensuring that our personnel stay warm and focused on their mission, no matter the complexity of the conditions. ❄️🚫 As we continue to push the boundaries of exploration and security, our gear—including military wetsuits—must evolve to meet the challenges ahead. Investing in high-quality, durable wetsuits not only supports our military's readiness but also ensures the safety and effectiveness of our operations. Let’s champion the gear that protects those who protect us. 💪🌊 #MilitaryGear #Wetsuits #InnovationInDefense #SafetyFirst #UnderwaterOperations #MilitaryReadiness #skoutdooz

Fun facts about yachts ⛵ The term "yacht" traces its roots back to the Dutch word "jacht", which means "hunt". Originally, yachts served as fast-paced sailing ships deployed by the Dutch Navy to chase down pirates and other criminals. The United States Marine Corps is cautiously reintroducing its Amphibious Combat Vehicles (ACVs) to the beaches of the Pacific, nearly two years after surf rollovers led to a suspension of their water operations. After facing operational challenges due to surf rollovers, the Marine Corps undertook a detailed hydrographic study to evaluate beach conditions before deploying the ACVs. This meticulous assessment was crucial for ensuring safe landings during the recent Exercise Ssang Yong 24 in South Korea. The exercise was a significant milestone, marking the ACV's first operational use in the region, with a stringent focus on conducting missions in low-wave environments to mitigate risks. During the exercise, Marines determined that there was a "negligible surf zone," which allowed for secure deployment of the ACVs. This careful and calculated approach followed a similar training event in the Philippines earlier this year, where data was collected to refine operational tactics and improve crew training. The Corps has also implemented a new training curriculum for ACV operators, ensuring they are well-prepared for the unique challenges of amphibious operations. The reintroduction of ACVs demonstrates the Marine Corps' commitment to enhancing its amphibious capabilities while learning valuable lessons from previous incidents. By adapting training programs and operational strategies based on past challenges, the Corps aims to transform the ACV into a reliable asset for future missions. This proactive stance not only enhances operational readiness but also underscores the Corps' dedication to safety and effectiveness in diverse environments. #Marines #AmphibiousCombatVehicle #MilitaryTraining #NationalSecurity #PacificOperations #DefenseInnovation #ExerciseSsangYong #SafetyFirst #MarineCorps #OperationalReadiness #MilitaryTechnology #LessonsLearned #HydrographicStudy #TrainingExcellence

This is not something to celebrate...it is something to be very, very worried about... Kevin Murray, CTO of the Marine Corps, taught me about "cost-imposing" strategies that our adversaries intentionally employ or unintentionally benefit from (though I think it's more intentional every day) during our time together at the Eisenhower School. That said, before I comment on cost-imposing strategies, being "surprised" that we have to shoot down drones attacking ships after years of war in Ukraine is disappointing. However, that is a direct result of our inability to train with or against UASs on a routine basis in garrison. This is a failure of leadership and vision and reflects incredible risk-aversion. Furthermore, not only is shooting down cheap UASs with Harriers and AIM-9s (about $400K/ea), not sustainable from a money-perspective, it's not sustainable from a manufacturing-perspective. As Ukraine (and other recent conflicts) have exposed, we cannot produce the exquisite weapons we need in the volumes we need to fight a sustained, high-end conflict. Taking nothing away from the Harrier pilots and maintainers on the MEU (I was the MMCO of VMA-542 in the mid-90s), we must stop celebrating "successes" like this and start recognizing and developing ways to stop practicing overkill at a tactical level and being on the wrong side of asymmetric warfare at the strategic level.
Marine aviation from an ARG/MEU contributing to a larger naval mission to ensure waterways remain safe and open for global commerce -absolutely awesome. https://lnkd.in/e5A9BanE

Did you know..❓ During World War 2, a motorised submersible known as Sleeping Beauty was created by the British Special Operations Executive (SOE). It was specifically designed to perform clandestine surface and sub-surface reconnaissance and covert attacks. Combining the legendary concept of the Sleeping Beauty with modern navigation propulsion and sensor technology, JFD was inspired to created the Shadow Seal, a unique Tactical Diving Vehicle (TDV) suitable of undertaking a range of complex mission profiles. JFD understands the demanding and ever-changing sub surface battlespace, and continues to support military personnel around the world with innovative solutions and support, in order to achieve mission success. Damen has unveiled a new ship design based on modern defence and security requirements. The Multi-Purpose Support Ship (MPSS) has been co-developed with the Portuguese Navy, the vessel’s launching customer. It is a solution for the increasing use of drone technology in combat and surveillance. In addition to its primary function, the MPSS is designed to fulfil a wide range of additional tasks, including auxiliary roles. The MPSS range, featuring 7000 and 9000 tons versions, combines the vision of the Portuguese Navy, with Damen’s proven process of shipbuilding, using standardised solutions wherever possible. As a result, the vessel can be constructed quickly and offers a reliable, cost-effective platform. “The MPSS range is a response to the increasing use of drone technology that we see in modern combat and surveillance situations. We could see that such capabilities would be of growing importance for countries looking to sustain their sovereignty. At the same time, this is a multi-purpose vessel that can be applied to wide range of additional operations, thereby offering value for taxpayer’s money," said Piet van Rooij, Commercial Manager of Damen’s Defence and Security department.
