New Buildings Institute proud to have partnered with Nuveen Green Capital on the white paper, Picking up the PACE: How Embodied Carbon and C-PACE are advancing the Decarbonization Roadmap, highlighting for the first time how C-PACE (Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy) financing can act as a driver to help the reduction of embodied carbon in new buildings.
Catalytic Finance for the Energy Transition, Nature, & Low Emission Building Materials │ Green Bank Alum & Board Member │ C-PACE Architect │ Founding team Greenworks Lending/Nuveen Green Capital
Our roadmap for #CPACE programs to address #embodiedcarbon through financing low emission building materials is live! For our CPACE Admin partners: - Review your enabling policy for eligible improvements - Research your market for other low-e building material policy - Evaluate the supply chain and availability of materials in your region - Consider key financial & technical components in expanding CPACE guidelines - Size the CPACE incentive to optimize better buildings Please be in touch with questions and we look forward to discussing this with you at the CPA Round Table in Chicago and beyond! Thank you to our co-author Jess Meylor at New Buildings Institute my team Jessa C., Graham Higgins, and Valerie Crum for helping put this together!

Interesting meeting with Green Blocks Houston's CEO Zafer Samiloglu, happy to collaborate on your new endeavor. One of the great aspects of our Innovative Coating Technology is the fact that we can improve other technologies and building systems by just spraying our coatings on their products. In other words, we are not only adding value to existing buildings, but we are also adding value to other building material companies. Exciting times for ISOLCORK USA products. Jose Maria Garcia, Head of STRIVE by STX in Latin America, shared his views with REVISTA NEGOCIO & CONSTRUCCIÓN regarding decarbonization challenges in cement and concrete due to the high costs of technologies and competition from sustainable alternatives. Also, stricter regulations, like the EU's Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism, add pressure. Strategies exist to reduce emissions, such as energy efficiency, kiln electrification and carbon capture. However, these face economic and regulatory barriers, especially in Latin America and the Caribbean. Jose Maria dives into effective decarbonization strategies addressing the entire value chain, from raw material extraction to final distribution. A 3-degree Celsius warming scenario would unleash a cascade of catastrophic consequences, including the displacement of over a billion people, the collapse of ice caps leading to uncontrollable sea level rise, widespread biodiversity loss, frequent and devastating extreme weather events, and the endangerment of critical carbon sinks like the Amazon and Congo Basin rainforests.
2nd May report from WoodMac.

🔔 Check out this guide by the Irish Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage. It offers solutions to preserving the architectural integrity of traditional buildings while also increasing their energy efficiency. The issue of renovating traditional and heritage buildings can be tricky to overcome. They are often left untouched despite generally being old buildings with energy efficiency and safety concerns. It is possible to "keep our traditional buildings in use and allow them to continue to provide comfortable, safe and beautiful places to live and work". #efficientbuildings #energyefficiency #energy
⚡ Energy Efficiency: New Guidance for Traditonal Buildings 🏛 The Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage published a guidance document called ‘Improving Energy Efficiency in Traditional Buildings’ which aims to provide clear and robust advice to specifiers and installers, while also being accessible to a wider audience. Read more here ➡ https://lnkd.in/dwiAFSGT The guidance was developed by a team led by the Irish Green Buildings Council with Carrig Conservation International Ltd, KRA Visionary Project Partners and Passivate.
