Due to the lack of creativity and widely spread standard approach within the humanitarian organizations, I have decided to start a series of postings of recommendations. And here, we go with the first one! Some recommendations to the organizations implementing tree planting as a form of whatever e.g. Climate change adaptation, Environmental impact, economic support to the people in need, education etc. Three planting is a tool that should be done to reach something valuable. We are not planting trees for the sake of planting trees. Instead, you can organize tree planting bringing schoolchildren, putting the name of the schoolchild on the tree he/she planted thus ensuring that the child will take care of this tree and will always value the green, environment and all respective consequences of it. In other words, make it meaningful, long run and efficient.

"Education Does Not Change the world . Education Changes People. People Change the world (Paulo Freire ) ✌ I'm happy to share that I've successfully completed an online certificate course titled "Nature-based Solutions for Disaster and Climate Resilience," developed by the UN Environment Programme in collaboration with the Partnership for Environment and Disaster Risk Reduction (PEDRR). This course aims to educate on the importance of nature-based solutions in enhancing disaster and climate resilience. Over seven lessons, it explores various topics related to ecological strategies, clarifying key concepts and their impacts on communities. The lessons also challenge common misconceptions about the effectiveness of these solutions by examining case studies from both historical and contemporary contexts. Additionally, the course reviews essential policies and strategies utilized by the United Nations and other organizations to promote and implement nature-based solutions in disaster risk reduction efforts. #NatureBasedSolutions #DisasterResilience #ClimateChange #UN #Sustainability #Training #Environment

🌍 Reflecting on the LMH Summer Programmes at Oxford 🌍 This summer, I studied at Lady Margaret Hall, focusing on the complex political, economic, and social dimensions of climate change—one of the most critical issues facing our world today. The teaching at Oxford was exceptional, with standout lectures from Katherine Sugar, Sam Hampton, Sumedha Basu, and others. Their diverse perspectives and commitment to student engagement made each session insightful and inclusive, enriching the learning experience. The course covered key topics such as environmental sustainability, the legal and economic shifts needed for a low-carbon future, and the global politics shaping climate action. One of the most important themes was the "just transition," ensuring that those least responsible for emissions aren't the ones who bear the brunt of climate impacts. My work consisted of essays centred on pivotal issues like Net Zero, the governance of environmental change, and the tension between justice and speed in the transition, with a special focus on the aviation industry. Feel free to reach out if these topics interest you—I’d be glad to share my work. This experience has deepened my understanding and commitment to working towards a sustainable and equitable future. #ClimateChange #Sustainability #PPE #Oxford #JustTransition #NetZero #EnvironmentalPolicy

In Southeast Michigan, teachers are incorporating climate change education into their curriculum by linking local environmental disasters to global environmental changes. In Hamtramck, science teacher William Albrecht uses the area's frequent flooding to teach his students about the impacts of climate change. Teachers like Andrea Stanczyk in Ypsilanti are integrating climate change into subjects such as algebra with projects such as rain gardens that teach students about environmental impact and solutions. Practical projects and real-time connections to local environmental disasters help students gain the knowledge and confidence needed to address the complexities of the climate crisis.
