Our 2023 Annual Report tells the story of how our teams in 21 countries mobilized last year to protect, educate, and empower children to rise above adversity. We did it using children’s language — play. Learn more about our work last year and read the report here: https://lnkd.in/gjqzu9Zk

On National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we honour the children who never came home and the survivors of residential schools. 🧡 As we take this day to reflect on a dark chapter in our history and the intergenerational trauma that it has caused, let’s commit to learning about the past and working together on a path toward reconciliation. At Life Ed, we believe that every child deserves to thrive in communities where all people feel safe. That’s why we support the voices calling for action to stop violence against women. The issue of family and domestic abuse and violence is complex. It needs to be addressed at all levels, with education being one important part of the solution. In the tapestry of survival, each survivor of human trafficking weaves a story of strength and resilience. Navigating the shadows, they emerge into the light of a new day, bravely embracing healing and reclaiming their narrative. 🌟 Healing is a journey, not a destination. Together, as a supportive community, we stand shoulder to shoulder, learn from each other, and grow stronger. Stand with us in supporting survivors of human trafficking, aged 21 and under, statewide. 💙 Let's amplify the voices of survivors, foster understanding, and create a world where compassion and empathy pave the way for brighter tomorrows. Because in unity, we find strength, and in understanding, we sow the seeds of hope. Learn more: https://bit.ly/48XrlKf

Great to be in Sweden this week with Dr John Bamber and others, to present on our youth justice relationships project and also the Greentown programme for young people caught up in criminal networks. So good to hear an international audience positively affirming our work.

Did you know right now 1 in 10 children and young people around the world are separated from their families, neglected or live in an abusive environment? Many are growing up without the support they need to prepare themselves for their future. The effects often last a lifetime and create a harmful cycle that repeats from one generation to the next. But together, we can break this cycle. Learn how at https://lnkd.in/esR89NFb

Relational & Culture Coaching, Consulting, Trainings and Group Process Facilitation for leaders and teams, social changemakers, educators, whole schools, families and communities.
A high recommend to watch: All Your Faces (Je N'Oublierai Jamais Vos Visages). A critical movie about attempts in restorative circles after sexual harm. In French, accessible with subtitles, at Avalon Theater Oct 16, 8pm in DC or available on Amazon and other streamlining services. Sexual harm is a most acute and complex harm to get justice from, repairs and 'healing' while holding unimaginable complex losses and multiplying impacts. It is part of the healing justice arc I focus on in organizations, in schools, in communities, with a sharp focus on systemic and structural awareness and responsibilities on setting up the structures, processes, climates and culture to prevent as much possible harm as possible from happening, especially in places where power differentials abound and add their complex dynamics to these most intricate experiences. https://lnkd.in/eqFbahbX

This is a powerful teaching tool that emphasizes the importance of bridge building in and between communities.
Two years ago, Not In Our Town premiered Repairing the World: Stories from the Tree of Life. This moving documentary chronicles the powerful community response to hate and antisemitism following the deadly Pittsburgh synagogue attack in 2018. Facing History is proud to have created a classroom viewing guide for educators to use in conjunction with the film—click through to download and stay tuned as we share more resources related to the film in the leadup to the sixth anniversary of these tragic events.
