Troop 149 in Missouri serves as a cautionary tale for the importance of adult volunteer leader training in scouting. The Girl Scouts of the USA and Boy Scouts of America have detailed guidelines for appropriate money-earning projects, including the use of logos and intellectual property. While we may not always agree with organizational rules, they exist for a reason. Disbanding the troop seems like a missed opportunity for the young people involved to learn from the experience and continue their scouting journey. Let's work to ensure that all scouting volunteers receive the necessary training to avoid similar situations and keep the focus on youth development. #Scouting #YouthDevelopment #VolunteerLeadership
